  1. That's the thing, they could've gone after Russell Martin who's not only good, but has the added bonus of being Canadian. Imagine 2 Canadian position players on a team going for it! It was not to be, they decided to continue waiting for JPA to improve from a top10C to a Top5C...lol.
  2. Never said Thole wasn't an awful hitter. The issue is that JPA is playing 4/5 games, I think he should play less than that. No big deal though, as I said above, C is a blackhole.
  3. Playing Thole 2 of 5 games instead of 1 of 5 is not the same as playing him consistenly. The rest may do JPA some good, he'll have more time to tweet, shave, bang more teenage chicks and recover from it.
  4. So 12 days left to sign Bickford, no news = bad news.
  5. Was he scheduled to play? I don't think he was in the lineup at all.
  6. Why are you so worried about the Tigers', Angels' and Dodgers' struggles? I hate to break it to you, but these teams' struggles won't make the Blue Jays a better team.
  7. Traded to the Blue Jays for Aaron Sanchez?
  8. There's something to be said for sending a message to JPA that he's not untouchable, a little competition would be good. Also, if JPA is not that good, which he isn't, he shouldn't play 4 of every 5 games every time through the rotation. Make him work in the games he doesn't start, but anyway, it's definitely a black hole.
  9. Farrell is rumored to have asked to be allowed to interview for the Red Sox job after his first year when Francona was fired so yes, he wanted to be in Boston. It makes some sense because that's where he had coached for a few years.
  10. What? First of all, he's not the answer at catcher so I'm not saying he is, but neither is JPA so them platooning is the best option in my opinion. But how does playing 1 of every 5 games constitute being given a chance like you claim? He only played today because Lind left the game injured, if not he wouldn't have played. Anyway, whatever....
  11. Now that I think about it, I said this time off may do him some good, but then again, he's been on the DL for a month now and his rehab has now been delayed by at least 3 games, kind of makes you wonder how screwed up this organization is.
  12. Thole hasn't been given a chance, he's only playing once every 5th game, it's tough to do much offensively with that little playing time. Also, I'm not sure how you can confidently say that this team would platoon the 2 if Thole was hitting, they've shown that they think very highly of JPA. One example of this is that they traded away their top prospect who also happened to be a catcher and almost ready to be in MLB as well as another decent catching prospect in Carlos Perez. All signs point to JPA being well regarded by this management/coaching regime.
  13. It would be somewhat understandable if these guys played above-average D, but their offensive stench is made worse by their defense or lack there of.
  14. The first thing to do should be to start a platoon with Thole and JPA, whomever is hot plays 3 of 5 games. You have to push players like JPA and let them know their job is not secure, but then again AA is a pussy and defers to Beeston and his marketing team so I just wasted space on this forum...sorry guys.
  15. This Romero thing is one of those things that happen and is probably nobody's fault. Signing Romero and Morrow looked like a good thing to do as they tried to build a starting rotation around them. They also signed Jose Bautista, Adam Lind to reasonably good contracts so they were trying to take that core and build a team around them. Without the Romero Meltdown, the starting rotation would've been in better shape last season and there's a chance they wouldn't have been as desperate for starting pitching which may have prevented them from making the trades they made...who knows.
  16. Read again bro, I said: 'Blue Jays are finding ways to lose games'.
  17. I agree, but the Tigers are better than the Blue Jays, especially the starting rotation. Blue Jays are finding ways to lose games just like they did in April and part of May, but it probably has a lot to do with playing the AL East.
  18. This team will need to get to 10 games over .500 to be anything more than a tease. I would be a seller if I were AA, but then again, I wouldn't have made the Dickey trade.
  19. I don't listen to this Wilner character, but from all accounts, it sounds like he's the typical homer who will twist stats and logic to defend an incompetent organization that gutted its farm system to get older and injury-prone players mostly on the decline.
  20. I really think the Blue Jays should've DFA'ed one of the bums they're carrying on this team and said so awhile back, but they continue to accept horrible fundamentals from so many of their players that it's really hard to get mad at the players when management accepts their crappyness.
  21. Now come the Tigers pissed up ready to win at least 3 of 4.
  22. Funny how Gibbons managed the bullpen this series, it makes me think he might've been experimenting or something.
  23. Don't forget AA also traded away Carlos Perez. Anyway...
  24. Maybe Bonifacio can run for him to 1B, it'll be the only way he's useful.
