  1. What? You want the guy to announce to the baseball world that he's looking for a pitcher? Almost every team wants to improve their pitching. I really hope at least Happ is back by the ASG to reduce the odds of AA trading away anymore prospects.
  2. How Gibbons allowed Wang to give up 6 after giving up 7 in his previous start baffles me.
  3. I also read the Red Sox are involved but won't go above a certain amount. Given the teams involved, it may become a bidding war and the price may even go above what's being rumored. We'll see what happens.
  4. Sell high? Delabar for Porcello anyone?
  5. I just read on mlbtraderumors that it may be around $60M on a 5 year deal. If the Blue Jays fork up that much cash, they'd better tell him not to write "tu eres maricon" anywhere on his body. It seems the Dodgers will be involved and with the success Yasiel Puig is having, there may not be anyone else who can outbid them.
  6. Yeah get him I say. Replace JJ in July and get a compensatory draft pick. What's the rumored amount?
  7. Well said, not much to be added.
  8. How far from MLB would this guy be? If he has a chance to join the starting rotation next year, that would be great.
  9. There's something to be said about an injury-prone player's value being diminished by the injuries. It's also true that Syndergaard had just finished his low A season. I didn't like giving up what they gave up, but if they had gotten a Matt Latos, for example, I might've been fine with it. Anyway, I think at the end of the day, the organization decided it wanted to start competing this year and didn't want to wait 3 years for these young players to reach not only MLB, but to fully establish themselves. I can understand this as they're a business and they need people watching the games and going to the games. We'll see what happens.
  10. I didn't watch the game against the Rays, but today I was impressed by the velocity, I saw some knucklers at 79pmh so that's good news. Still overpaid to get him, but it's not Dickey's fault, I like the guy a lot.
  11. I hope Happ comes back and pitches well, then maybe AA can trade him and at least get a prospect back. It still won't compensate for the shitload of prospects he gave up to get him.
  12. So Delabar's success is due to Janssen and Oliver's vetrin presence according to Buck Martinez.
  13. I hope it's Oliver that's brought in to finish this off, he's a mopup guy now.
  14. We're all frustrated, but there's no reason to exaggerate. Lawrie has struggled, but I'd rather have him there than whomever is playing 3b today or since he's been out. I want to see Cabrera healthy before I draw any conclusions. Anywya.
  15. This rookie will bring out the worst in the Jays' hitters, let's hope I'm wrong!
  16. The fact that Thole is hitting ahead of JP is telling here, patience is wearing thin with Gibbons.
  17. Looks like Nay is off to a good start, I know it's a SSS, but I like the 6 BB's in 37 AB's. Another one doing well in Bluefield is Derrick Loveless and he has 5 BB's in 31 AB's. Davis is doing well as well, but striking out quite a bit.
  18. Since the Happ trade, I have no clue what AA considers a cheap price. It seems ever since that trade, he just accepts what the GM he's dealing with tells him the price for a player is and he does it and it's overwhelmingly been an overpayment. He accepted to give up quite a bit in the Marlins trade given the salaries coming back and then just went along with Alderson's request for 2 top prospects for a 38 year old FA-to-be. So if Epstein insisted on a top prospect for one of those guys, I wouldn't be surprised if AA went along to get along.
  19. I don't know if you noticed but they DID spend big on starting pitching; Buehrle's contract pays him 48M (?) over the next 3 years. JJ is a FA at the end of the year and is making 13M this year. Dickey is making like 5M this year, but will make 25M over the next 2 years. Then you add what these 3 cost in terms of prospects and it was pretty extravagant spending. Oh J.A. Happ cost prospects as well and got an extension. And I'm leaving out our main man Ricky Ro who's pitching in AAA. You can say they acquired the wrong pitchers, but you cannot say they didn't spend on pitching.
  20. With all the Red Sox praise, it seems like that guy High85 has joined this forum.
  21. Another nationality he hates, but not as much as Cubans.
