    Does anyone know why Nolin was taken out after pitching 5 innings and throwing 60 pitches, maybe a rain delay? I'd promote Stroman and Nolin right away. So Sanchez struggled and can't go past 3 innings anymore, I need to see more from this guy, Syndergaard is leaving him way behind.

    So I saw that Sanchez struggled. If he struggles in his next start, I'd start to worry that he may be injured again, but hopefully he'll be alright.

    Only chance for Jays is if O's, Yanks and Rays stay around 10 games over .500. Of course this means the Jays have to be above .500 which won't happen until late July if not later.

    I wish they would've waited a year or gone the FA route to shore up the rotation which was in shambles and wasn't that good to begin with. In fairness, it's quite possible that they would've struck out in free agency and may have ended up with a 90 loss season. Next year certainly looks much better in terms of AAA depth, there will probably be deals made before then, I know some here think the team we see now will start opening day 2014, I doubt it.

    Certainly true. What I'm saying is that if you go back and check the old board, a lot of the posters agreed that the team should get a guy like you described, frontline starter under control for a few seasons. They needed more than one starter, but one of the starters needed to be a 1 or 2. We don't know what is going to happen, no one expected them to make the deals they made, who's to say they won't make a couple more moves, we'll see what happens.

    They had their big streak, do they have another one in them? They need to be 5 games over .500 for me to take them seriously.

    Same here, I hope they stand pat at the deadline and hang onto what few prospects remain.

    Maybe they can trade some of the young pitching for hitters later on. One positive thing about the system is that there are a lot of good arms in there with potential, they're far away, but pitching is always at a premium.

    True, but you never know plus the freakin' team is in last place, 3 guys is enough.

    Let's assume for a moment that they sign Bickford and 2 of Brentz, Tellez, Lauer and Tewes, would you feel like the system was replenished to a good enough extent after what was traded away even though these guys will be pitching in SS ball?

    I know next year's draft is thought to be much better than this year's, but I want them to sign Bickford although not above slot. It seems they'll have enough money to get at least one of the late round tough signs.

    This also creates a problem for the F/O since they are so image conscious. I'd like to think this wouldn't affect their evaluations, but it may. Anyway, well said.

    So many teams in the WC race so the objective is being attained. The one drawback is the 1 game playoff. While it's great to have a winner-take-all game, why not just add another WC and round, I mean all the other leagues allow 6 teams to make the playoffs. I know it won't happen any time soon and there are scheduling issues, but it would be great.

    He deserves kudos for that...I hope that girl lives a happy and healthy life. I know some here get personal in attacking the players, but remember it's just a sport.

    Yeah, no doubt. He may hit 10 hr this year even after missing 2+ moths and I know it's a SSS, but so far his D is just fine with me.
