  1. Feels like a win. Paxton is left-handed and kinda sucks. Buehrle has this.
  2. In the offseason: David DeJesus (widely rumoured to be available throughout March) Nori Aoki Colby Rasmus Will Venable Seth Smith I dunno, there's pretty much an endless supply of below-average LH outfielders available, you just might have to pay a few million $. After Gose was traded, one should have been acquired. You can't start a season with two possible replacement-level outfielders on the team and nobody in AAA. Well you can, but teams that do that aren't usually all that concerned about their win total.
  3. Yeah, him too. I wonder what kind of value he carries around the league?
  4. The only assets they have that would make sense to sell are Bautista, Edwin, and Cecil. Could definitely get a haul, but at this point there's probably no franchise-altering top-10 prospect types on the table.
  5. I don't think there will be much of a regression with Gose as far as fWAR is concerned. He's obviously not going to sustain the 0.471 BABIP, but he's also not the -17 run defender UZR has him at this year. He's a useful player.
  6. Well that was worthless. Are the methods in the pay-only section?
  7. All I have to show is Meadows and whatever portion of Vogt/Richards you want to credit Matz with. We'll see soon if Braun's thumb treatment has worked - it was about this time last year that his 150 wRC+ started the decline to 115 or wherever it finished.
  8. Yeah. The real issue here is going into the season with one major league outfielder. Saunders was hurt in February. They had 5 weeks to find a solution, and as usual, were completely ineffective. Even before the Saunders injury the board was complaining that this OF was paper thin and were an injury away from being a complete clusterf***.
  9. The team should have been all over David DeJesus before the season when the Rays were apparently shopping him for nothing but salary relief, and the Jays knew Saunders was hurt. Guy crushes RH pitching, and is still a plus corner defender. He's exactly what the team needs. I wonder if they'd still move him?
  10. Anything. Pompey up. A left-handed corner OF off the replacement-level scrap heap so Carrera can play CF against righties. Pillar can not be continually run out there as an every day player.
  11. Why is this guy starting against Felix Hernandez? Why is he starting against righties at all? Career 61 wRC+ against RHP in the majors, and in the minors his OPS was 150 points worse against them. If he's a major league player, it's as the short-side of a CF platoon. Christ almighty this org is awful.
  12. Nah, I've probably understated Alex's ability to stand there and do nothing as seasons get flushed down the pooper.
  13. 6 games under 0.500 and we're coming up on June. Things are going to start happening.
  14. I don't get it. Why is this in quotations? Unless BBBB or raysjays posted something I can't see, the responses in this thread have been rational and understanding of why a player wouldn't want to come here.
  15. May 15 - 2:55 AM Fister waited out a long rain delay, took the mound and then wished he hadn't. He was off from the very beginning, coughing up a three-run shot to Derek Norris in the first and then barely escaping the second frame after surrendering an additional four runs. Fister came into the evening with a 2.87 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. We aren't concerned about him, though a tough matchup with the Yankees is on deck. This comment even though his 2015 season has red flags everywhere. A few hours later he was DL'd with forearm tightness.
  16. They're also written very poorly with frequent grammatical errors.
  17. I would too. He's on a terrible team in Philly, and has a chance to be moved to a legit playoff contender. The team that acquires him controls him for 4.5 seasons. Why would he come to Toronto for 4.5 years of mediocrity and no playoffs?
  18. You don't have to hide your feeling anymore min.
  19. I'm confused though. gruber92 said the only thing stopping Goins from being a 2-win player was playing time, but he's been playing full time and is still a replacement-level hack.
  20. Yay, more Goins!
  21. Six terrible bats in the lineup.
  22. Welp, after my one week offensive explosion I'm getting absolutely clowned on by gibbbers.
  23. Well... I was only joking. But if I weren't, that would have been the article I posted.
  24. I was just about to get some work done, but now I have to scour fangraphs for a "Bruce suxxxx" article. FML.
  25. I've moved on. SS belongs to Miller and Turner now. Will be interesting to see how Boxy handles it if Crawford keeps it up though.
