Does anyone know what KC wants in return for Dyson? They've built their team in part around OF defence, so I think they understand his value very well. They probably see this as well the last year of their window, so they probably ask for Estrada or something, as they can use the rotation help. I don't think he'll be cheap.

I kind of expect them to. It seems like the team always comes 1-2 pieces short of buying everything on the fans' offseason shopping list. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Shatkins throws Upton/Carrera/Pompey at LF and crosses their fingers.

Really just a backup catcher and an everyday OF required now for the lineup: C - Martin 1B - Pearce 2B - Travis 3B - Donaldson SS - Tulowitzki CF - Pillar LF - Upton/Carrera RF - DH - Morales 1B - Smoak LF - Upton/Carrera 2B/SS/3B - Barney C - Would also be nice to acquire a better platoon partner for Upton (which would move Carrera to the 4th OF spot and be the end of Smoak on the roster), but really things are manageable with just an everyday OF and backup C added.

Career 130 wRC+ vs. LHP and 100 vs. RHP. There's no reason to use him in a strict platoon, especially given that he's at least average defensively at 1st or a corner OF spot. Reminds me of Logan Forsythe and Justin Turner. Years wasted using them in platoon spots when it turned out that they were capable of 5-win seasons if played everyday.

Every year there are 1-2 contracts that seem to be obvious steals and you wonder why other teams weren't driving up the price. Last year it was Rich Hill. This year is Steve Pearce. Guy is getting paid for like 1.5 wins total over the two years and has a chance to be a huge contributor, playing almost every day at one of LF, 1B, RF, or DH.

I'd definitely take Moreland over Smoak if there was a way to remove Smoak from the roster without eating his contract. I prefer neither though.

About 6 months ago I made the egregious decision to try their 'steak' sub. Took three bites, threw it in the trash, and vowed never to eat there again. It was f***ing nasty.

I'm not even saying that I think he should be banned. He's just had a bit of a meltdown over the last few weeks and it's hard not to comment. It would be like sitting in your office, which is usually a place where adults act in a reasonably sane way, and not commenting about a naked guy in the hallway smearing s*** all over the walls.
