  1. It's still a game I watch for fun. I think it's possible to recognize that a contract is fine, and still want to pass because you watch the team 100+ times a year and just don't like watching that player. It was fine when he was early 30s monster 170 wRC+ cannon-armed Jose Bautista. But 36-year old good-but-mortal hitting noodle-armed OF statue Jose Bautista? Meh, go away.
  2. I can only speak for myself, but there have just been too many incidents of him acting like an arrogant POS. - incessant whining about balls and strikes - the 'someone else's mediocrity' quote - his inability to take any of the heat off a rookie Ryan Goins for the miscommunication in game 6 of the 2015 ALCS, because he would have had to admit to a mistake he didn't make - the stupid showboating trying to gun Delmon Young (I think) down at 1B I just hate the way he carries himself, in general. I think over the years I've been less emotionally invested in the Jays than a lot of you guys, so I see him in a similar way as all of the fans of other AL teams who hate him. He's a less likeable Kevin Youkilis. Now at 36, with the injury history piling up, and him turning into a statue in RF, I no longer consider him a good enough player that it makes me overlook everything I dislike about him.
  3. I don't really care about team identity or anything, but I feel the same way. I recognize that 3/50 is fine for the team, but I still want him to go somewhere else. I don't like Bautista the person, and I don't like watching him play the OF. I don't want him here for three more years.
  4. Jeff Blair is such a f***ing moron
  5. Stoeten still writes?
  6. holy f*** lol
  7. I'd still prefer Fowler at 4/68 than Bautista at 2/34. I buy into Fowler's skill set, and think he'll be a good player for 3-4 years barring serious injury, and his particular skill set fits this team perfectly.
  8. Would very much prefer Fowler.
  9. It really shouldn't, but who knows.
  10. I think the first three are inarguable: Sale > Sanchez Price > Stroman Porcello > Happ I'd almost certainly take Wright over Liriano. Edge to Estrada over Pomeranz/Rodriguez to me, but IF Pomeranz is healthy, even that is close.
  11. There should be a forum function that auto-bans someone every time they use the word 'headcase'. Guessing at the effect that someone's personality will have on their performance based on the odd news story is probably the dumbest type of post you see on sports forums.
  12. Steven Wright and one of Pomeranz/Rodriguez are not an acceptable 4/5 combo to you? Back of the pen looks like Osuna/Grilli/Biagini vs. Kimbrel/Thornburg/Barnes. If anything, that's advantage Boston.
  13. Hey Gruber, did you see the awards reveal thread? You won two this year! Congratulations!
  14. Really just Smoak and Goins left.
  15. Reminder to all the winners to PM KING FOR YOUR GIFT CERTIFICATES.
  16. f*** yes. I hate that guy as a player, and I'm excited to never see him in a jays jersey again.
  17. After watching him implode time after time last year, I'm inclined to say no. I hate watching that guy pitch.
  18. A Smith Upton platoon would probably provide league average production in LF.
  19. Terminator is not good with computer
  20. I didn't vote for a best mod this year, but Governator might bring me out to the polls in a year.
  21. Appreciate it, old friend. Maybe I don't hate you.
  22. Shut-out for the 4th year in a row. I hate all of you.
  23. To all the winners: I've sent King the $25 gift certificates, so please PM him with the details and he'll make sure they get to you. If he doesn't respond, just keep bothering him.
  24. Wow, two awards for Gruber, and he has a chance at the hat trick!
