The three candidates (aside from P2F) last time were L54, Orgfiller, and jays4life19. We'd have to do a new vote if we're considering the same three, because they all finished pretty close, well behind the new Min.
Can you even DH a SP in a 5-man rotation more than like 1-2 times a week? My understanding is a pitcher is basically exhausted and really sore the two days after a start, and you'd expect him to rest the day right before his start. It's really hard to see how this would work in a North American rotation.
I don't see how any team can guarantee him that in good faith. Not only are his offensive skills still very questionable, but he'll be going from 6 days rest to 4 days. I can't imagine anyone would want him playing 1-2 days after a 100-pitch start.
We've seen these types basically phased out of baseball in the last few years (CCC ). IMO the most likely outcome is he spends three seasons battling injury and struggling to get playing time, then disappears entirely when his contract expires after 2020.
I see Naylor as a non-prospect. He's fat, so you have to project him as like 120 wRC+ guy to think he's going to be useful, but he hasn't hit for any power. Fat guy with no power who stabbed a teammate in the hand and has a Billy Butler ceiling. Pass.
The whole Naquin situation is weird. Guy was given 9 games of leash before being optioned, coming off a season in which he contributed 2.5 wins in 365 PA. He's gone down and put up a 137wRC+ in AAA. If they don't want him, I have a hard time understanding why nobody else would.
I expect that he'll settle in as closer full-time next year. The big question with him is whether he can put a few healthy seasons together. He's definitely a high-end reliever when healthy.
