I think there's enough potential in the bat that I wouldn't throw a Marte ceiling on him. The things he's doing offensively are very rare for someone his age at AAA. Probably looking at a prime McCutchen ceiling.

I recommend acquiring decent pitchers in the offseason. I can't really stress this enough.

Most impressive prospect: Vlad at 18 in A+ looking like a Miguel Cabrera bat might be in play, or Ronald Acuna at 19 in AAA looking like a 5-tool stud, but with a lesser offensive profile than Vlad?

I hope he retires. He's finished, and watching him like this sucks. He seems like he has too much pride to be one of those guys who hangs on for years after their expiry date. Also, imagine if they'd given him a 5-year deal before 2016? -

Bautista retaliated against the HBP(the actual revenge) with an incredibly late slide aimed at Odor’s back knee(Bautista trying to get revenge against the revenge), and Bautista got in his face afterward and was squaring up when Odor punched him(revenge against Bautista’s revenge). A couple commenters on that article said that the average fit adult male would often get thrown out at 1B on a single into the OF. I think they're giving MLB players a bit too much credit. As a fit 30-year old, I don't think an MLB OF would have a chance to throw me out if I miraculously managed to get the ball past the infield. I'd put money on me being faster down the line than the Billy Butlers of the world.

I'm really hoping they trade JD for some impact prospects in the offseason. I just don't see enough here to make them a WS contender in 2018. That said, I expect JD to be retained.

The Rays should be embarrassed. They're 1.5 games out of a playoff spot, and have let Honeywell rot in AAA while giving tons of innings to a bunch of gas cans, especially in the pen.

I think Coors has the opposit effect. Larry Walker might be in now if people didn't dismiss his bat because of Coors.

I think I'm more willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Molina than to Pedroia and Ortiz. With the hitters, the whole 'he's a winner' argument is not one I buy. I think the argument is a bit different for Molina - handling a pitching staff seems like a more concrete and observable quality than being a 'winner'.

I think Ichiro and Molina are basically shoe-ins. Molina is going to get credit for things that don't how up in the WARz.
