Eno Sarris: I’m a little disappointed in Devers’ fly ball rate, but I could see him hitting something like .275/.330/.475 eventually, no speed, okay D while young. His body is a little worse than I thought
I guess when you've made 36M by 34, peace of mind is more important than whether you make 13M or 15M at the age of 35.
Fair deal for both sides I think.
He ran a 0.225 ISO at both AA stops this year, and I've seen a lot of 50 future power grades on him. I like him because I'm not convinced it's just punchless slap hitter.
Also, Jorge Mateo might not be an elite prospect, but his omission from top-100 lists is a bit surprising. 80-grade speed to go with a 140 wRC+ in AA at 22 makes him pretty interesting I think.
I, too, have a hard time quitting Folty. Results have never been there, but every once in awhile he'll have a great breaking ball and something close to command of his upper 90s heat and you see a very good starter hidden in there somewhere.
Actually, I've thought this through and changed my mind. Let's say next Wednesday is the last day for all adds. That gives the finalists some time for housekeeping and to drop streamers for possible keepers they might like.
Wednesday it is unless spittin sees this discussion and wants to overrule me.
