  1. lol at MLBTR comments
  2. He had to sell the future and double the team’s payroll for two good seasons here. I’m not expecting much success in Atlanta.
  3. Earlier this season Grant said that Seattle's offense has been bad for a decade and nothing has changed. People pointed out that he was wrong. Rather than admit that he was wrong (in which case this exchange would have lasted 3 posts and been forgotten forever) he did what Grant does and doubled, tripled, and quadrupled down on an argument that is objectively wrong.
  4. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2017&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=16,d Let's try something Grant. Linked above you'll find all offenses ranked by their wRC+ over the last two seasons. You'll see that Seattle ranks in 2nd place. You'll also recall that you stated that they had a bad offense. Given the evidence presented, would you concede that you were mistaken? If so, please respond simply with "I was wrong" . Thx.
  5. Obligatory 'Get it done Shatkins'
  6. Very slow today
  7. What low-to-mid tier free agents do we want the team to be in on? Some names that I find interesting: C - Avila, Hundley, Iannetta INF - Walker, Cozart, Nunez OF - Dyson, Jackson, Gomez, Jay SP - Cobb, Garcia, Mikolas
  8. Jeff Sullivan said it best: "He was your favourite player's favourite player."
  9. I hope they sign Cashner and Vargas.
  10. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/11/orioles-interested-in-andrew-cashner-jason-vargas.html Let’s all laugh at the Orioles
  11. Am I the only one who doesn't give a single s*** about whether or not Tellez gets taken in the Rule V? This guy is going to have to mash in the majors to have any kind of value, and just put up a wRC+ of 72 in a full season at AAA. If someone wants to roster that on their 25-man, be my guest.
  12. lol, I remember watching that game, then logging into bjmb to see if I had seen that right
  13. Thanks z3r0s! We should post this to the league constitution. Also, at least one of these things seems like a dumn way to be doing things, but it's so minor that I don't actually care enough to engage in debate/a poll about changing it.
  14. You should spend like 15 minutes less a day reading about politics on the internet and devote that time to a hobby that can actually feel rewarding sometimes. Like fantasy baseball.
  15. I thought we agreed not to do that, because it would encourage tanking the playoffs once eliminated?
  16. Pretty sure he’s not changing anything.
  17. Just looked it up, and we have been applying the lottery all through the draft. I'm not sure there's actually a reason for that though, beyond it being a case of 'the first guy who did it did it that way, so we always have'. I think it makes more sense to do it NHL style going forward (maybe after this season) - why spend 3-4 rounds punishing a poor sap like boxy who finishes last, and gets the 4th overall pick?
  18. Regarding the draft order, here's the way it was done this year. I'm not sure exactly how it went in 2016: - order followed the reverse order of regular season standings (using winning percentage and disregarding division titles) - bottom 5 teams were in the lottery with the following odds: 16 - 1 ball 17 - 2 balls 18 - 3 balls 19 - 4 balls 20 - 5 balls - the lottery is only for the first round, and the order reverts back to reverse regular season order for rounds 2-6 Anyone opposed to adding these pieces to the league rules so that we know exactly how things will run going forward?
  19. Another thing that came up in BORED - is the lottery just for the top-5 picks, or for slots the entire draft? When I did the BORED lottery, it was only for the top-5 picks, and then other rounds reverted to regular season draft order for all 20 teams. This is how the NHL does their lottery, and seems intuitive to me.
  20. I thought it was 16-20 in a lottery, and everyone else according to regular season finish.
  21. I was being charitable. I'm no longer interested in Hoffman, Matz, or Odorizzi in this format.
  22. Aside from one of Ramos/Zunino, I'm looking to move Kole Calhoun for either a prospect or similarly valuable SP.
