Apparently the Angels are using it for a run at Ohtani. But even if they miss out, there are interesting things to do with it (like a flier on Maitan). I definitely would have taken Johnson on for that pool space.
WTF, the Braves sent LA their remaining $1.21M in pool space in the trade. That seems like way too much to give up just to get a team to take on Johnson and his $4.5M. You'd think a team in on Ohtani would have given up something of actual value for that space.
I’m just waiting for Ceci’s new 6-year deal, which will probably cost the team Brassard. Coaches and management seem to love Ceci, even though it’s a comedy of errors any time him and Phaneuf are in the ice.
There' s no way he reproduces his 20% HR/FB rate. Given that the team doesn't have a 5th starter right now, I'd absolutely take Fiers at 1/6 or whatever he'll make.
I'd pay him more than that if he were willing to take on a role that let the team move him between SS/2B/3B as needed. Would still get his 600 PA, but would provide insurance for Tulo/Travis/JD.
I don’t mean to be callous, but does MLBTR need a post every time a player with some MLB experience dies? I mean, who actually cares about Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez beyond a ‘yeah, it’s a shame when people die youngish’.
Jose Urena reminds me a bit of Cosart and pre-2016 Aaron Sanchez. I watch him and can't for the life of me figure out how he looks so good while being so bad.
