  1. Their 2019 core of Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, and Machado is going to be nuts!
  2. Still doesn't know if he'll be allowed back in the US.
  3. The Angels are suddenly a really fun team. Trout/Upton/Simmons/Calhoun are a great lineup core, and Ohtani is exactly what that rotation needed. If Richards/Skaggs/Shoemaker/Mayer can stay reasonably healthy, they have a chance to be pretty good.
  4. So the Padres seem to have real interest in Hosmer. I guess you can never have too many mediocre 1B making $20M a year.
  5. I'll be pretty disappointed if he signs there. They're such a boring, unimpressive team. I'm rooting for Chicago or one of the LA teams.
  6. Yeah, if he chooses Seattle he had his mind made up before this process began and is signing there because of it's proximity to Japan. What do they have going for them? - Their team is not good in the present, and seems to be mismanaged. - Their future outlook is bleak - They haven't done a good job keeping pitchers healthy
  7. Wasn’t his arb projection right at 6M? Why wouldn’t Detroit throw Houston some fringe prospect for him?
  8. You’re a head commish of LoD now. Get used to the recognition. The fame. The drugs, women and money.
  9. He’s mostly avoided career-threatening injury, so he’s not someone you’d follow closely for fantasy purposes.
  10. Yes, he should do great for Atlanta next year.
  11. Kyle Lewis I guess?
  12. Wouldn’t be worth it. Their farm is awful
  13. lol, they gave up Neidert. Why not just keep Dyson?
  14. Why trade for a guy who projects for an 85 wRC+ and probably won’t be a good defender at a position he really hasn’t played?
  15. So Fangraphs readers believe that a team run by the people who built Cleveland is a below-average FO.
  16. Even if you think you have a fraction of a percent of a chance at landing him, isn't the $100M+ of surplus value sufficient reward for having a senior employee and a few interns spend a couple weeks working full time on an information package?
  17. So MLB teams feel inconvenienced by a guy who would get over $200M on the open market but will instead sign for a $5M bonus and spend three years earning the minimum, all because MLB's rules are absurd? Please excuse me while I shed some tears over the overtime they've had to pay to pursue him.
  18. Everyone would. But it's just as likely we'd get a Eugene Melnyk.
  19. This would not likely be a good thing
  20. I don’t think this team is going to be very good next year.
  21. They still had to spend the cash tho
  22. If you have him at 3 as a pitcher, we should talk in DDL
  23. So basically the Angels get Maitan for $2.2M in exchange for taking on Johnson’s $4.5. Pretty good move considering there’s a decent chance Johnson isn’t worth nothing next year.
  24. The Cardinals have a good rotation shaping up: Martinez Reyes Wacha Weaver Mikolas If Reyes is healthy for opening day, Waino might be done as a starter there.
  25. Yup. Might be a top-5 free agent SP. Low-risk, high reward signing.
