  1. I can't believe elite SP/RP John Gant is still available 12-hours after hitting the market. Spanky must be having a hard time wading through all of the lucrative offers.
  2. Maybe Trevor Bauer should have signed a long-term deal.
  3. Jesus. My faith in Ross Atkins has taken a hit this year. That would have been an obvious conversation to have with your manager given this team’s massive PR problem.
  4. Shouldn't a day at DH basically be considered a day off? Or is it a situation where you don't take BP on an off day, but do if you're DHing, so you actually save yourself a few dozen swings with an off day?
  5. Dinger, did you enjoy dropping Mike Leake today as much as I did?
  6. Mostly Rogers and Atkins I would think. Rogers sets payroll, and Ross Atkins has to find good players under whatever parameters he's given. Our total position player fWAR right now is (-0.5). Our bats have been sub-replacement level. I get that it's a rebuilding year, but the FO absolutely has to be better than that. We're only 1.3 fWAR better than the Marlins, who are being mocked by the entire baseball world for their offensive ineptitude.
  7. Every position player except Sogard, Galvis, and Smoak have 0.2 fWAR or less. It's May 21st, and the list of players who have a) played well, and actually matter in terms of future value to this team reads: 1. Stroman 2. Giles 3. Thornton That's it. And we certainly didn't need to field a 95+ loss team to learn that those three arms were good. Stroman and Giles would have made any team in baseball, and Thornton would have had a full season of starts available to him even if he were the 6th or 7th starter in March. So far punting 2019 to 'let the kids play' has been a complete debacle that has accomplished nothing outside of saving Rogers $$$. I still think this FO is going to build something good here, but they need to start finding useful MLB players ASAP, because this team is completely unacceptable for a market this big.
  8. Seems really dumb of Kapler to try to get two innings from Dominguez with Neris available.
  9. Mods
  10. Interesting that Chubs is the only dispersal draft team over 0.500, and he’s 1 game over. I expected at least 1-2 playoff teams.
  11. Has everyone enjoyed their Victoria Day game experience?
  12. I wonder if maybe the Royals are refusing to discuss compensation out of principle. If the Jays FO sees enough upside to run him out all year on the 25 man just to keep him, it would be hard to justify not offering something of value to KC to facilitate developing him in a better environment. And if you're KC, you presumably wouldn't be asking for that much, as the Jays have shown that they're willing to keep him up to avoid losing him, and the alternative is getting nothing. Feels like the Royals are basically just flipping Shatkins the bird.
  13. He's becoming one of my biggest complaints. I do think he's going to eventually spend a couple months on the IL while working with the major league coaches, at which point it's a non-issue. I just don't support running him out there on the 25-man all season when he's getting destroyed every time out.
  14. I had successfully forgotten about the atrocities he committed against my BORED rate stats, and you have to go and trigger me.
  15. It's mickey mouse. Running out a 19-year old who wouldn't even rank as a top 300 prospect in baseball all season to get absolutely pummeled for an entire season on the off chance that he might be good in 2022 is something that I don't think you'd see Boston or New York do. I feel like MLB teams have a responsibility to attempt to fill their rosters with MLB-caliber players. If Luciano doesn't pan out Atkins deserves to be mocked endlessly for this.
  16. OK, it's time for a phantom IL stint for Luciano. I get what they're trying to do and that he might one day be good, but right now he's a f***ing embarrassment.
  17. lmao @ Buck on Luciano "overall he's held his own" He's been possibly the worst pitcher in baseball.
  18. Also Sunday was vs. a RHP and Monday is vs. a LHP.
  19. Holy crap JBJ's wRC+ is 15.
  20. Starting Jackson on a Monday vs. Boston seems pretty unwise lol
  21. Edwin Jackson's DFA will be pretty sweet. Not as nice as Hanson or Brito's but pretty enjoyable.
  22. Edwin Jackson suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  23. Like, if he absolutely couldn’t have 4 PAs yesterday and today, why not sit him yesterday on the road vs. the RHP and play him at home, on a holiday, vs a LHP?
