    I'm probably a Buffalo fan now if anything. I've always liked Tim Murray, and have Sam Reinhart on both my hockey leagues.

    McGowan isn't even good though. $4 million for a 4+ ERA reliever is a complete waste of money.

    Right. So there's no chance Leiweke gets involved in the search for the Jays' next president?

    I'm not going to pretend to know much of anything about the way Rogers does business, but under their ownership, the Raptors and this offseason the Leafs seem to be acquiring excellent front-office personnel. Can you folks more in tune with the Toronto sports scene shed light on the possibility that whoever is in charge of running the Leafs and Raptors businesses might also work some magic with the Jays? Or are the Jays completely unrelated?

    Pretty good start IMO.

    What's Francisco going to make, like $3 million? You can reasonably expect him somewhere in the 105-115 wRC+ range vs. RHP, and he can play 3B without butchering it. That makes him an asset on a team with an injury-prone DH that still needs his option picked up, and an injury-prone 3B that might not even play 3B next year. I think he should be offered arb.

    Redmond is a nice guy to have as the 7th guy in the pen because he's capable of starting games when you need him to and only makes the minimum, but I don't think you want him as any more than a swingman.

    Yeah, I could see that. IMO a big part of the criticism is that people tend to view Cameron as a SABR-genius and that grinds the gears of people who know that he isn't, and leads to people pointing out his flaws. I'll read Cameron over 95% of bloggers, and definitely over any Jays-dedicated types like Tao or Stoeten. He's an entertaining writer and usually has something relatively interesting to say.

    IIRC Nox thinks he's kind of a charlatan, which maybe he is. He definitely doesn't advance knowledge like some of the more mathy types, but I still enjoy most of his articles. He's a decent writer and creates interesting content, but not groundbreaking content. I think Nox is of the opinion that he tries to insert himself in conversations with the types who post on Tango's blog, but that isn't really the nature of his contributions. That's what fangraphs is now, for the most part. Interesting content, but not groundbreaking, and for the most part, not quality research.

    Yeah, Nox dislikes him, but I don't think people like Nox are really his intended audience.

    Cameron gets a bad rap. His articles are generally pretty good. He's not a statistician like Tango or Bill James, but he's a pretty great baseball blogger IMO.

    Yeah, I'm well aware of all this and think it should be torn down. But as you say, it won't be.

    I think it's pretty clear that an upgrade is needed somehwere, and if they can get it, I likely ship Buehrle out if possible, and buy out Morrow. Dream scenario: Lester/Shields Dickey Stroman Hutchison Happ/Norris/Nolin/Sanchez There's no way I keep Morrow at this point.

    Maybe everyone interested has already discussed him with Tex to the point where they know there's no deal to be had.
