  1. Boxy is saying McCarthy didn't really contribute, so he doesn't regret trading him. Because he didn't accrue much/any fantasy value anyway, even though xFIP suggests that he should have.
  2. LOL @ Mortal Kristo I really hope we're within 1-2 games of each other going into the last week. Because that would be awesome.
  3. I'm at 0.289 this week, so I maybe I'll catch him.
  4. Well, I'm 39-12 vs. the division, so I deserve to lose. But I really, really don't want to.
  5. My season SLG is 0.377. I think I'm worse than anyone in the DDL or BBDlL.
  6. Christ almighty, I started Buchholz and Cahill today because Havok has 11ty starts this week. Getting my ass handed to me by the 19th place team.
  7. That's the key for me. You have a guy you can project at like 2.5 wins with very small error bars, so you're paying like $7.5 million per win on a 1-year contract. Sure, it would be nice to try and beat that, but that's about where the market is, and you would be asking AA to beat the market to find better value than Buehrle. Consider further that the rotation features a lot of high-risk arms, and I really think Buehrle makes sense here.
  8. I think Buehrle is a good #3. And you can't really look at his xFIP. Buehrle don't roll like that.
  9. I'll be pretty surprised if Buehrle isn't over 2 wins next year, especially when you consider that his past totals were FIP-based, which undervalues Buehrle's contributions. But anyway, that's beside the point. Knowing that he might be overpaid by 2-3 million and anctually being able to replace that production are two very different things. Are you confident that AA can reinvest that $19 million, and get more wins than Buehrle will provide without giving up assets or giving up more term than would be ideal? I'm not. Unless you have a deal worked out with Shields or Lester or something, trading Buehrle opens up a hole.
  10. I still kind of feel like Buehrle would be missed next year. Eliminating 2.5-3 wins from maybe the most reliable pitcher in baseball would hurt. And $19 million isn't really that expensive for what he provides. Maybe a couple million more than you'd like to pay, but it would be difficult to replace his production.
  11. At least you guys didn't need him for a playoff push, amirite?
  12. Was just about to post this. Looked ugly.
  13. USA chants are my least favourite thing about baseball.
  14. I do love pitchers and I'm not afraid to admit it.
  15. I wonder how long he can keep it up for. He's 33 but it feels like his skill set can play for awhile yet.
  16. I want to be 8-9 deep for matches against teams like SG and North. And yeah, Kuma has been absolutely ridiculous. Top-20 player in our format even though he missed a month.
  17. Anyone have a link to this for later?
  18. I don't really get emotionally invested in sports teams anymore. I just kind of have teams I like every year for various reasons.
  19. Anybody have a SP 4/5 they're inclined to move for any of my picks or non-Synder prospects?
  20. They won't move him. The talent level on this team is going to erode consistently over the next few years, both because their best players are on the wrong side of 30, and because they're going to hit free agency, and the team will have a hard time replacing them because they aren't inclined to pay even market value on the free agent market and don't have much coming in the upper minors. It starts this year when Janssen, Rasmus, and probably Melky will walk and return just a single comp pick.
  21. They're 2 games over 0.500 and their run differential is +4. This is not a playoff team.
