  1. You actually have a better team OPS than me this year.
  2. Can't rely on them, but can't win without them. f*** pitchers.

  4. I dunno, he's really good at things that don't really pay on the market. He should have earned a lot more than 2/16 last time.
  5. Yeah, I really really like this for North.
  6. Yeah. Even if you have to kick in like $2 million, I don't think you let that stop you from signing Martin. If Martin makes sense at like 3/30 or whatever he's going to get, he makes sense at 3/32.
  7. I see the Kyle Gibson experiment has ended.
  8. If you trust the framing numbers, he probably has been replacement level. Matt Carruth has him at -14 framing runs, which takes his 1.3 fWAR down to -0.1. Even if he's not quite THAT bad, he's probably still worth less than a win all things considered.
  9. Anybody want to take a flier on Trevor Cahill? I'd like to move him today for a prospect that isn't completely terrible. He's only 26 and has had a sub-4 xFIP in 5 of the last 6 years, 3.69 this year.
  10. I don't feel bad about that. The entire league had weeks to make an offer on him, and nobody wanted to offer even a 2nd.
  11. I have 0, and the only one who might get there is Braun. Coming into the year, I expected 20+ from Braun, Belt, Butler, Ramos, Tumbo, Gyorko.
  12. Good god, two teams have had a worse offense than me? That doesn't even seem possible.
  13. I still don't understand how he wasn't priority #1 the offseason he signed in Pittsburgh.
  14. Yeah, especially considering they don't really need Bautista with Cutch, Polanco, and Marte around.
  15. An A+ ball pitcher deal as the centerpiece in a trade is risky business. If Pittsburgh wants Bautista, it has to be Cole + IMO.
  16. It's actually kind of a perfect fit in that they have Cespedes, who would be expendable with Bautista + Victorino + Craig + JBJ in the fold. He'd allow the team to still compete this year, while cashing out on Bautista to acquire Betts + someone else.
  17. I wonder what Boston would move for Bautista. His value is just going to keep declining until his contract expires. Something like Betts + Cespedes + Owens would be a bit interesting.
  18. I think I just don't buy into the internal 2B guys (Maicer, Kawasaki, Goins, Tolleson) being reliable over a full season. Maicer is 34 in September, has maybe an 80 wRC+ true talent bat, and has graded as about an average 2B defender in his career, so we can probably expect him to be below-average going forward. Kawasaki is basically the same player, but from the left side. I see 2B as a huge hole. Gose is intriguing, but I'm not really buying the 23 UZR/150 this year. Love him as a 4th OF, but an 80 wRC+ is going to make it very difficult for him to be a league average contributor overall. I agree re: Martin. He would be perfect.
  19. I'm pretty sure Rasmus was a huge f***ing steal. Or at least an investment that returned considerable surplus value. Someone that isn't me should back of napkin those numbers.
  20. Also, Cargo is like your 3rd-best asset.
