No. I just don't think there's any chance you get Melancon for Happ, especially if they're taking on Navarro.

The Pirates have a pretty good front office now. They know that Navarro is replacement-level. I'd be surprised if they rostered him for league min, let alone $5 M, let alone trading assets to roster him at $5 M. I also think people are significantly overestimating the value Happ has around the league. A 32-year old 1-1.5 win SP with 1/6.7 left on his deal just isn't a sexy asset. I think you're looking at a decent (not elite) pre-arb pen arm or something if you move him.

Mets actually have a chance to be decent this year. C - d'Arnaud 1B - Duda 2B - Murphy 3B - Wright SS - Flores (is his defense for real?) CF - Lagares RF - Cuddyer LF - Granderson Harvey deGrom Colon Wheeler Niese Syndergaard/Montero/Gee If they move something like Syndergaard + Flores + Nimmo + Smith for Tulo, they could challenge for the division.

I hate that idea. You don't need to platoon him with a guy who can't do anything but DH. A good defensive OF who hits from the right side would let you play Bautista at DH vs. lefties. The idea that "Lind wastes two roster spots" is f***ing stupid. -

Victor Martinez is projected at like 2.5 wins, which seems pretty fair. Lind and a proper platoon partner probably give you 2 wins. This would be a really inefficient (bad) sequence of moves. -
