    More likely now. This is precedent setting. A 36-year old bat-only player has never received money like this (IIRC). Bau will be looking at 4/80 and Edwin like 5/100 if they have good 2016 seasons.

    I think he's more of a 1-1.5 win guy. Next year. And he's going to get 3-4 years.

    Yeah. BP has him at -13 runs (-1.3 wins) and Carruth has him at -20 runs. Wherever his true talent lies, I think we can be comfortable assuming his awful receiving eliminates most of the value his league-average bat provides. The Pirates are the kind of org that's aware of this.

    No. I just don't think there's any chance you get Melancon for Happ, especially if they're taking on Navarro.

    The Pirates have a pretty good front office now. They know that Navarro is replacement-level. I'd be surprised if they rostered him for league min, let alone $5 M, let alone trading assets to roster him at $5 M. I also think people are significantly overestimating the value Happ has around the league. A 32-year old 1-1.5 win SP with 1/6.7 left on his deal just isn't a sexy asset. I think you're looking at a decent (not elite) pre-arb pen arm or something if you move him.
