    IMO Lind carries more value around the league than Happ. You rarely see 5th starter types with not-insignificant salaries return much of anything.

    Cron is bad, but I'd probably do that. One year of Kendrick + comp pick is more valuable than Sanchez IMO, especially with the team at least notionally looking to compete.

    I'm not sure what to think about how he should be used. As a starter he's probably like a 4.25+ ERA 4/5, which isn't really needed at all as things stand.

    The idea behind trading Lind for a reliever was saving $7 million. This move costs them a win while saving like $3.5 million.

    He could have just thrown the $4 million Estrada will make at a similar free agent reliever. This is just bad.

    I really can't believe how bad this is. A guy who was replacement-level this year, and Steamer thinks is replacement-level next year for a 1.5 win guy, all to save less than $4 million.

    This is f***ing awful. Lind is better than Estrada, fills a bigger position of need, and is only like $3.5 M more expensive.

    Who plays 2B for them though? I feel like it marks more sense to just keep Kendrick and play the FA market.

    Yeah, but I don't mind him overall. I have the urge to steal Cameron's lunch money and stuff him in a locker or something. Kiley McDaniel is the best they have. I wish he talked about more than prospects.

    The "Lind only has x warz in the last 5 years" narrative is pretty disingenuous. He spent 2010-2012 severely miscast as an every day bat. He's Matt Joyce - play him everyday and you'll have a hard time squeezing any value out of him. Play him vs. RHP exclusively and you have a 1-2 win player.
