Everyone is wrong sometimes. The fact remains that Zobrist is probably a 4 win player next year, the Jays as they're currently assembled probably don't make it past the WC game, and Sanchez is probably replacement-level. Any one of those could not happen, but all three are likely to be true.

This thread is going to be a goldmine when the Jays miss the playoffs by a couple of wins and Sanchez tanks his value with a replacement level season.

Zobrist probably vaults the team from one of several teams with decent playoff hopes in the AL to clear WS contender.

He only had 10 HR and 52 RBI last year. I think Maicer Izturis could give us 5-7 HR and 50 RBI in this lineup.

I don't think they'd be all that keen on either as the centerpiece in a deal for Zobrist.

Has to signal a Zobrist trade. Jennings and Kiermaier are both above-average starters in the OF, and they still have Souza, Dejesus, Guyer, and Mahtook. Zero reason to burn Zobrist in the OF, and zero reason to add Cabrera with Franklin, Escobar, and Zobrist in the IF.

Alex Rios doesn't even like baseball: "The Royals signed Alex Rios this offseason even though Rios rejected a trade to Kansas City last summer, Sherman says. The Rangers tried to trade Rios to the Royals, but Rios requested that Kansas City exercise his 2015 option as a condition of the deal. The Royals said no, so Rios used his no-trade clause to stop the trade. Rios thus spent the entire season with the Rangers, refusing a chance to join a team in the midst of a playoff race."
