Wow, shocked Bosh went back. They must have promised him and Wade another big move.
  2. Hopefully the Jays can pull through this series and then take the break to regroup somewhat.
  3. Meh. Good for the pen I guess. Would setup this year and take over as closer next.
  4. Sure, but we will also have a significant part of our payroll freed up. I would like to see AA add now but as I previously posted I am hoping that is done via lower tier prospects and salary dumps. This team just needs to tread water for the next 6 weeks and then we have a lot of offensive pieces coming back. There is no reason this team can't make an honest effort to compete now without screwing up the future.
  5. At this point I'm only interested in acquiring a player if it doesn't cost any of our key prospects. Something more of a salary dump that will come off the books in the winter. I'm much more excited about the possibility of next season and beyond when we have all of Stroman, Hutch, Dickey, Buehrle, Sanchez, Norris, and Nolin in the rotation mix. Then come 2016, guys like Osuna could be a possibility as well with Dickey and Buehrle also coming off the books. AA really needs to be careful here because this rotation has a chance to be good, young and cheap for a while.
  6. If AA did that then I hope he gets canned at the end of the season.
  7. It all depends on the circumstances. If you are never willing to trade prospects for vets, you may very well never win a WS. There is merit to both sides. Knowing Beane, he may flip Shark in the winter or next years trade deadline.
  8. Sanchez and Norris have not had an opportunity yet, so let's be fair.
  9. I agree on Bautista/EE, we probably never see a combo like that for at lest the next decade if not more. That being said, McGowan was drafted years ago, you can just count random picks, there has to be a timeline. As for Romero, sure he was regarded well and he did provide value and now it's all over. Cecil had potential, but was brought in as a closer, and guess what he in now in the pen, coincidence? Sanchez has ace stuff (granted I'm not his biggest fan) and Norris has donee more than most top prospects to this point. You can't just throw a blanket on all prospects and call them the same.
  10. HS has nothing to do with it. That's why some HS guys drafted in the later rounds are regarded higher than college guys.
  11. They will have some cash next season if payroll remains the same. They should be able to resign Melky or Rasmus with Gose slotting into CF. I don't think they need an ace, rather I would focus on 2B or 3B. I think they can get that done with the current payroll coming off the books.
  12. Was Cecil or Marcum ever regarded as high as Sanchez or Norris? Plus we have Nolin ready once he gets healthy. Not to mention Dickey and Buehrle under contract next season as well to help bridge the transition.
  13. It isn't, but a lot will free up after the 2015 season.
  14. It's not as simple as that. A's had a great shot to win it all before the trade, now they put themselves in an even stronger position, plus they have Shark next season as well.
  15. Why is it Dickey or Buehrle? For 2015 it should be hutch/Stro/Dickey/Buehrle/FA. I talking 2016. Even then, I know all of Norris/Nolin/Sanchez won't work out, but if even one does, we have a great core with Hutch and Stroman.

He sure has. My guess is we go the complimentary pieces route. All hail Ujiri.
  17. I blame Beaston.
