  1. Perhaps Rogers was skeptical after spending big a couple winters ago with nothing to show for it. If anything, a strong run here could help AA make a strong case for a sizeable payroll increase next winter.
  2. Those numbers will only go up if this team keeps contending into mid August and beyond. This is why I have been saying for so long this is a big market club.
  3. Good times for sure. I'm up north just checking in, but seems like the jays are in good shape after their last game. That's 3 series in a row now.
  4. We will have no choice.
  5. Normally I would lock a thread like this, but I don't want to penalize the rest of this league. I'll just clean it up later.
  6. I can't believe the f***ing BS I'm reading in this thread. Some low class s*** here over fantasy baseball? All this after Jay gave Silvio a f***ing free baseball jersey that game. Some classless s*** I tell you.
  7. They are only 4.5 games back of the Jays now. It's sad but likely true.
  8. Don't you know? The baseball gods hate this city.
  9. Rays are going to catch the Jays very soon.
  10. I still don't understand why the thread was locked in the first place.
  11. After the Jays beat the Yanks tonight we will have sole possession of the second WC.
  12. No one who understands the game expects all of them to pan out, but two of them have already had success in the Majors in Stroman and Hutch, two are top 50 prospects in Sanchez and Norris, one is a high upside SP in Osuna who has been slowed down by TJS and the last is a backend guy who has had success at the higher levels in the minors and in a best case scenario could be a mid rotation SP in Nolin. Out of that group, if 3 pan out as expected were in good shape.
  13. As soon as he has a bad game we will see the "Aaron Sanchez Dud Thread".
  14. That's just it. As much as people want to say this team is screwed for the future, they are not. As long as we keep our top young pitching, this team has a lot to look forward too. Add Osuna to the mix as another high upside SP who should be banging on the door in two years. Also let's not forget Nolin, we need some arms to round out the rotation and overall depth and he could fit the bill.
  15. Control, injuries, and success have nothing to do with "stuff". Great "stuff" can sometimes yield success, but it's not the same. Success is the end result, "Stuff" is not. Perhaps the entire baseball world doesn't have it all wrong and maybe it's just you? Crazy thought, but let's go with that.
  16. It's too bad Nolin got hurt, he was primed to be up by now. He may not be anything special, but he could still be a solid option for the back end. At this point I'd give Rogers a shot.
  17. Which is why it makes sense that the team has apparently shifted gears and are focusing on SP now. Given the fact that EE could be back in a week or so and Lawrie in a couple, I think that might be the smart move. With Reimold now in the mix as well, I'm comfortable with where this lineup could be by mid August.
  18. In an ideal scenario, I'd probably let him go one or two starts more and then call it a season. Unfortunately for the Jays, they really need him in a contending season and I'm fearful they will do something really dumb here.
  19. Hutch doesn't look injured to me at all. If anything he is probably tired. He just came off of TJS and missed an entire season as a young SP. He is probably close to where his limit should be right now anyways. I really think AA should just shut him down for a few weeks and bring him back mid to late August if this team is still in the mix. If not then keep him shut down until next season. Someone like Esmil Rogers could spot start for a few weeks and he could be skipped on off days.
  20. No. Hutch should be a big part of this rotation for the next several years. We can live with Romero's contract for one more year.
  21. This forum is pretty volatile. Happy one day, crying the next. His stuff is undeniable though, but let's see how this board handles one of his outings where he walks the bases loaded.
  22. People are just excited. The stuff is undeniable, it's the control that will determine his fate. Hopefully working out of the pen will allow him to just attack hitters and not get into trouble with the walks. Time will tell if this was a good move or not, but I wouldn't have called him up just yet.
  23. The good thing is the Orioles and Mariners play each other for a 4 game series next. The Jays need to capitalize on that.
