    It is, but if some of our arms can pan out then that will go a long way.

    JPA needs to go, not backup. I can just imagine what a stink he will cause if he is moved to a backup role and this team needs to rid itself of bigmouth players who need to learn to shut the f*** up.

    At this point AA should only be focusing on fixing this team for 2014. This team has had several chances and its just not happening. Time to start dumping payroll and clearing roster space. I would only try to keep EE, Bautista and Reyes. Everyone else can be shopped and let's see what can be done. In the offseason fill in the holes and take another crack at contending.

    JJ can pitch like this the rest of the year and someone will still offer him a contract. It hurts the length and value of the contract but I would be shocked if he could at least get a 3 year deal. No way he accepts the QO unless he thinks he can rebound and try again for a big contract the following winter.

    Your response does not answer the question. Rogers will not be able to start for the entire season, he will be maxed out at some point and will need to be shut down. If he has options, he could be sent down at that point.

    Does Rogers have options? Once he maxes out his innings, it would make sense to just option him down or make up some kind of fake injury.

    AA almost certainly has to make a trade unless he plans on sending everyone with options down which will include players like Kawasaki (obvious), Redmond (obvious), Wagner, Loup and Happ. As bad as this s***** season has been, AA does have quite a few solid pieces to work with. If he can pull off a couple solid trades that would be nice. Lets not forget others like Drabek (already optioned), Hutch and Perez who will all likely be a part of the mix next season along with players like Stroman, Nolin and Gose. AA has his work to do.

    Which should be a big factor to help maintain the Jays attendance figures over the next 8 weeks or so.

    Just move him to the pen and have him work single innings until he gets his command under control. The guy is clearly mentally weak and needs his hand held through this.

    Didn't see this posted but another poor outing for Romero on the 4th. 6IP 9H 2BB 3SO. He now has 30K/36BB in Buffalo.

    Yeah I want both in the minors to start the year. If we are counting on one or both right out of the gate then this team will be in big trouble.

    They need to go on a run of like 15/20. Not impossible by any means but still unlikely given the state of our rotation.

    Well the reality is that most people expected a lot more from JJ and Dickey. Sure the trade for Dickey was terrible, but if he lived up to the billing this team is contending right now.

    I don't think we should even be looking at the Red Sox anymore. If we gain ground on them great but the real race for this team will be the WC if they can put a solid run together.
