  1. At the time I think most expected more out of what we got. This team has just sucked as a whole period. Buehrle although getting off to a terrible start has been the rock of our rotation and I am fine with him. Reyes was hurt but that stuff happens, when healthy he is a great talent. JJ when healthy over a full year is a difference maker, we just haven't had a chance to see him get on a roll yet. Boni sucks period.
  2. I like Buehrle and never really had a problem with the trade, it was just the Dickey trade that I didn't like.
  3. Don't worry we have Dickey and Buehrle.
  4. If the offers are strong enough I would move everyone I possibly could. That being said, I would make moving Janssen and Oliver priority #1. The others are still cheap and can be flipped at a later date if needed.
  5. Don't forget our very own Ricky Romero. Man it really sucks being stuck with his contract and no one remotely interested in him.
  6. I am not opposed to moving Delabar if the return is great, but I would really need to be blown away to move him before Janssen. Delabar doesn't make much at all and Janssen will get $4M next year in the final year of his contract. Doesn't make much sense to not move Janssen.
  7. Don't forget Santos. Injury prone yes, but if he can stay reasonably healthy next year he is another big piece.
  8. Ah..Ok, that makes sense. Chances are though if he continues like he is going he will likely be in the mix for a spot next year.
  9. Oliver and Janssen can go and the pen is still in great shape heading into 2014. I really hope AA does this.
  10. The team is setup quite nicely in terms of SP depth for next year. Hutch, Stroman, Nolin and Drabek all figure to be guys to start the season in the minors and call up when injuries hit and that is not too shabby. I believe Happ will be out of options for next year but how about Romero?
  11. Heck if the demand is strong enough and teams are willing to pay trade the entire f***ing pen. This can easily be pieced together again in the winter.
  12. Someone needs to tell this to AA.
  13. Bud f***ing Norris? My God. If that happens, all hope will be lost.
  14. Yay, more JPA for 2014.
  15. Yup it won't be, but he would have to pitch like an ace the rest of the way for that to happen. He is still negative WAR right now.
  16. That is what worries me, I don't think they will actually realize this but I really hope I am wrong.
  17. Well to be fair JJ has done nothing for this team more than halfway into the season. Unless he pitches like an Ace the rest of the way its not going to be that tough to improve on him. In terms of ceiling, sure he will be tough to replace, but he is far from that ceiling right now.
  18. Our rotation depth for 2014 assuming JJ walks would be: Dickey, Morrow, Buehrle, Happ, Rogers, Romero, Stroman, Nolin, Hutch and Drabek. I don't see this as bad as so many are saying. If AA can shore up the D at 2B or 3B depending on where Lawrie plays and get rid of JPA and bring in a defensive minded catcher then this team will contend. Upgrading the rotation will just further that cause, but I am not even sure its as dire as its being made out to be.
  19. I agree with this. It's looking like the SP depth in the minors should be stronger next season, the pen is stacked and we don't even have room for all our options and we have a strong enough offense. This team just needs to fix the defensive deficiencies at 2B and C and add a legitimate #3 or better to the rotation. If AA can get it into his head that JPA sucks, he could plug C with a defensive minded player at a low cost. Then look to see what can be done at 2B. This team likely contends next season just by shoring up the D. Adding to the rotation just makes them that much better.
  20. Pillar deserves a look but lets be realistic, he probably is going to be a 4th OF or a below average 3rd OF. Nothing wrong with that, as he could be a cheap option for us as a backup for a few years.
  21. A supplemental pick still has quite a bit of value. I would be pleased with that return if he walks and if he doesn't I am expecting a bounce back season.
