  1. His chances are looking better. It would be nice I'd AA could rid us of his contract somehow.
  2. Only way AA does a deal is if it comes with an extension. Lets not kid ourselves here.
  3. Yup, at the end of the day it comes down to profits. If AA can keep generating interest, ticket sales growth and increased ratings, then Rogers probably stays off his back. At some point though, they will probably want a winner for marketing purposes.
  4. It does happen. While this team might be old, we do have some pieces to work with via trade and I am certain AA will have some more money to work with this winter. This team will take another crack at it next year with a few new faces.
  5. At the end of the day AA has done his job, ticket sales are up and so is ratings. I expect him to keep pushing forward and I wouldn't be surprised to see two more big names added to this team sometime between now and next spring. Even with this horrid season in terms of the expectations, I can really see attendance going up again next season if more is added to this team.
  6. The vast majority of servers have that mentality. It's nothing new.
  7. Is Reyes even willing to move to 2B should it be needed?
  8. It was a costly trade, but at the time it was also a deal that could easily be justified. It's easy to sit back now and say AA messed up, but most people didn't think Dickey would be this bad. AA has done a lot of things wrong, but at the same time I think he has done more right. He might not be the GM we all thought he was a couple years ago, but he is far from terrible.
  9. I will go with the Lawrie special.
  10. I remember most were excited to see what he could do myself included. That being said, I can't recall anyone who didn't think it was an overpay. The vast majority didn't approve of the deal.
  11. Most people don't even realize how much servers can make. In an average establishment your probably talking the equivalent of a $25 - $30 an hour type of job. That is in your basic franchise/chain restaurants. Better establishments and they are pulling in money most people would never see with a university degree. I hate it when servers cry over tips, its really pathetic. Most of them don't even realize how much they are even making.
  12. That trade at the time was fine.
  13. Who cares at this point. We have Redmond on the mound, Orioles are going to tee off on him.
  14. But he has failed and everyone knows it. He can hide behind his decisions and then lose his job or try to fix this mess.
  15. Yeah, I get the feeling this team is going to see some big changes between now and next spring. AA has to put everything into this team contending next year or he will be on the hot seat.
  16. I am fine with keeping JJ and offering him a QO. if he accepts, we have him for next year, if he doesn't we get the pick. I like either. As for RP, Janssen and Oliver should be at the top of the to move list.
  17. Good luck trying to move Buehrle. Jays would have to eat a chunk of that contract to the point where it probably wouldn't make any sense to move him.
  18. I am not sure there is any trade in the works for a 3B right now. This may simply be a situation where they want to see if Brett can handle 2B and if he can then AA has the flexibility to look for a 2B or 3B when one becomes available.
  19. LOL, without Bautista this team is probably 10 games under right now. It can't be all on him, our rotation has s*** the bed in an epic way and this team has been an all around mess.
  20. Well the season is pretty much over, so what else are they supposed to do?
  21. I hope AA can learn from that. If he can rid us of some contracts moving forward this team could be primed for a run over the next few years. Right now I would look to move Janssen. He could save this team $4M next season and at the same time get us a soild return. Oliver should be able to net us a B prospect. Boni, Izturis, just try to give these guys away. Look into moving Lind if possible, someone may bite based on his overall numbers and that could save $2M for the buyout which is a sunk cost. Not a lot of money with those guys, but enough to at least clear some room on the roster and save a bit.
  22. Alright guys, cut this out, if you have a beef just PM each other.
  23. It was. They can now breath easy and have some flexibility moving forward.
  24. The Red Sox paid for Farrell no question about it, but they also have the results. It's sad to say, but they are in great shape moving forward.
