  1. It's quite obvious something isn't quite right in Seattle. Say what you want about AA but he has never committed this team to a franchise crippling contract and has gotten us out of the Wells contract.
  2. Probably one of several reasons their not really relevant anymore.
  3. JPA: you never played the game.
  4. Was she missing a nugget?
  5. I think people overreact quite a bit. Sure he traded away a substantial amount of prospects last winter, but most farms would be crippled after something like that and ours was hit hard but no where near being one of the worst. Most of our talent sits in the lower levels and in a year or two I could see our farm in the top 10 again.
  6. As of now the Yankees have huge question marks, but let's see how the stack up by the end of the winter. They have a good trade chip in Gardener and will likely sign one more FA, so things could change quickly.
  7. That would be nice.
  8. Sure, but in this scenario you now have Infante at 2B instead of an Izzy/Goins platoon.
  9. This is something I suggested during the season and in the beginning of the offseason. I like Lind as a primary DH in a platoon, however, dumping his $7M contract would be some solid salary relief for a player that in my opinion we can live without. I would move Melky into a primary DH role and slide Gose into the OF, giving us a substantial defensive upgrade. Melky would also be utilized as the 4th OF when not in the lineup as the DH. We lose some offence, but we improve the defence. I would then look to allocate the money saved from Lind towards signing Infant for 2B. Even if Infante comes in at 3/30, that's still only an increase of 3M per season and we now have a substantially better defensive club and probably didn't lose much offensively overall. This leaves much of the available payroll to then be used on signing a FA SP. Team gets better and we didn't touch the farm.
  10. A mid rotation SP or better (Shark, Bailey, Garza, etc), a 2B upgrade (Infante or Ellis), A solid bench option that can platoon with Lind and offer us some defensive flexibility. Accomplish that and I think this team is in the playoff hunt.
  11. The winter meetings are going to suck this year now that so much has already happened.
  12. A simple call to Mr. Selig and another big contract can come off the books. #GottaLoveTheWitchhunts
  13. You don't need to develop them if the plan is to trade them before they flop.
  14. They do want to win, but team still needs work.
  15. It amazes me how some people don't consider money an asset.
  16. I don't consider Feldman league average. If #5's are getting this much, I can't wait to see what happens when a true MLB proven ace hits the market with the way this trend is heading.
  17. I don't hate him, just don't like him. We all have people we like/dislike. I was kidding anyways, I couldn't care less about Cito.
  18. What would it take to get Franklin?
  19. He is a less interesting case now that we know he isn't a vegetarian.
  20. It's astonishing. Why the f*** would they do this?
  21. Forgot about Wang. I have to admit, the group of guys we have as depth do excite me a bit. Not in terms of ridiculous expectations, rather that we have some cheap, controllable arms coming in which will be huge when it comes time for guys like Buehrle to walk and cash starts freeing up.
  22. It's based on current WAR predictions as per Steamer, not personal opinions which are typically heavily flawed.
