  1. Yup. Let's just wait and see if AA can make the necessary improvements. This team will be competitive, it's just a matter of whether it will be playoff calibre competitive or just finishing above .500 competitive. Right now I think adding a guy like Shark, flipping Happ and upgrading 2B puts us into playoff discussions.
  2. Depth is critical, look what happened last season when we had the likes of Bush, Jenkins, Ortiz, etc as our primary depth. We now have a younger and more talented group. Big difference.
  3. Yup. The funny thing is, being a vegetarian can be even worse for you if all you eat is fried foods.
  4. The thing about AA is that he is very good with contracts. Getting guys to sign team friendly extensions, targeting players with cheap control and foreseeing the market down the line. He made a colossal mistake last winter and now he is hated, but I still think there is a very good GM within him (no he didn't eat another GM).
  5. We also have very good depth behind that rotation and a lockdown pen. I'm expecting big things if we can land Shark or an equivalent talent.
  6. I would like to see this happen to Cito Gaston. Someone will have to leave the broom closet door open first though.
  7. I can't believe we are reduced to having discussions about logos.
  8. I'd rather have JA Happ at his AAV.
  9. We're not even remotely as bad as them and the Pujols contract.
  10. I bet. Now that I'm over 30, I can't imagine eating that without regretting it during and immediately after and the following day, lol.
  11. Yeah. The A's will win the west I think, but at least it's more competitive. The ALE will be a dogfight and all teams could end up over .500. Wouldn't be surprised if no WC came from the East in 2014.
  12. Perhaps, in either case, to hard to criticize a player like Ichiro when he was in his prime. Now he is old and pretty much on his way out.
  13. Ken, that's not a really fair assessment. Navarro has worked hard to get to this point and JP did nothing but run his mouth right out of town.
  14. All I know is that the emergence of Seattle will make the West that much more competitive and will help prevent a team running away with a WC. The Central might be a sneaky f*** of a division this year for one of thos WC spots.
  15. I'm on board with this. I am really excited to see him pitch this year. Honestly, the depth is f***ing awesome, we just need to strengthen then top 5 and surely AA will get us at least 1 upgrade without touching Stroman or Hutch.
  16. That is a fine rotation. Likely Stroman isn't part of that rotation to start the season, but once injuries hit he will be up.
  17. The Mariners are still in pursuit of Choo and Napoli has received an offer from a team that Bosten will need to match or beat. That team could very well be the Mariners. Also they are still in on Price as per MLB Trade Rumors. Looks like the West is going to be a dogfight if the Mariners load up.
  18. Honestly, if AA can extend Shark if a deal does happen, then that's not a bad way to help transition this team into one built around longer term success. shark is in his prime years and a 5 year deal would be the best of his career. This is exactly the type of trade targets AA should be focusing on if he intends to go that route. Not to mention the fact that in two years this team will have virtually no commitments other than Reyes. The financial flexibility is there to fix a lot that went wrong. Just don't deal Stroman, he is ready now and 6 years of control is great. Lock up Rasmus long term as well and go from there.
  19. He isn't wrong that JP needs to be a better situational hitter. He is wrong to suggest Ichiro should be hitting more HR's. It's finding the right balance and JP was just never able to figure it out probably because he can't.
  20. In all fairness, Zaun is an idiot. He does call a lot of things as it is, but his insight leaves much to be desired.
