  1. Several posters have been banned since this forum has started up. We're not going to just ban people for the sake of banning them, it needs to be warranted. The mods do plenty around here to ensure this boards success, but if you think so poorly of us all and this forum then you do have the option to post elsewhere.
  2. AA went all in payroll wise and didn't consider what could go wrong? It's incredible that a team could jump that much in payroll, sacrifice that much talent only to stand pat when a few smaller moves could really solidify this roster.
  3. I never said all-in, I'm talking about addressing needs. I would have been quite happy with an offseason where we got Navarro, Ellis, Marcum (for example) on a minor league deal similar to what he signed, and one good upgrade to the rotation. That is not all-in, that is addressing needs.
  4. That's just it, not every position has to be a plus, several small improvements to a long way as well, but we're likely well past that point with many viable options gone such as Ellis.
  5. Where did I say he was my ideal 2B?
  6. The problem isn't specifically their ages, it's the fact that Morrow cannot be counted on and JJ was a complete bust and as a result no attempt to qualify or extend him was made, which is understandable but cost this team dearly. Not to mention the countless people who thought Romero would bounce back and now he likely never makes another start in a Jays uniform. That is 3/5 of our rotation and as a result this team is now completely relying on these two aging SP and AA hasn't done anything to address it.
  7. Ken, the problem is that AA and Beeston committed the team to contending last winter and basically said we are all in for the next 3 years (our window of contention). Now it looks like this team is in a state of limbo where our assets are just going to keep getting older. This team as is won't contend unless they catch lightening in a bottle and let's be honest here that is probably a severe long shot. AA either needs to address the deficiencies on this roster or blow it up. Nothing else is acceptable.
  8. Agreed. If AA doesn't make the necessary moves then that could end up being another move that costs this team. This is so frustrating.
  9. Sure, but we replaced one of the major culprits in Izzy with himself and misguided hope.
  10. Should not and will be are two different things. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to your 2014 0 WAR starting 2B platoon.
  11. Sure, but as is I think this team can't possibly finish any higher than third and more likely are the worst team in the division. It's close though, two upgrades and I think their chances increase significantly. Right now this team falls under the category of pretender.
  12. This would be acceptable if we didn't already have question marks in LF and C, unless you consider Melky and Navarro sure things. An all glove middle infielder is a great way to save payroll if our rotation didn't have huge question marks after Dickey and Buehrle who both combined will average 37 years of age come opening day. It's actually a great idea, however the rest of our roster doesn't support this type of risk.
  13. I pretty much gave up on this team making the necessary moves after the deadline passed. The fact that a Goins/Izzy platoon seems fine with our GM spells incredible trouble for this team. No chance this team competes without either two upgrades to the rotation or a rotation and 2B upgrade. The competition in the division is just too strong to stand pat.
  14. Well we know it won't be us, that's for sure.
  15. AA should just throw in the towel. At this point his only optin to fix 2B is via trade and it's more likely he just goes with the black hole we currently have. Barring a miracle, I can't see him fixing the holes on this team before the winter is over.
  16. Everything about you screams success.
  17. Yeah but he did it in epic style.
  18. Honestly, there isn't any real indication AA will seriously be in on Tanaka. I hope he is, but I get the feeling he has tunnel vision on the trade market.
  19. Some of them could just be into dudes.
  20. Yeah I don't know why anyone would care, lol. I've met a few guys from this forum IRL, none of use exchanged pics, lol, that's f***ing weird.
