Just need to invest in a TV and some new trash cans for Roger's Centre Jk FWIW he seemed to be one of the ones who didn't really benefit from the cheating. Springer actually hit better on the road in 2017 and 2019 than he did at home) -

1.5 WAR player at best now and every year wRC+ mostly under 90 Its been 3 years since he's been really good

AA had a strict policy against incentive filled contracts and against deals over 5 years I don't think the current front office does

I'm at the point i feel we need either Springer's or LeMahieu's bat in the lineup Because I don't see us acquiring a front line starter anymore this off season -
Yeah You don't get 26-28 year old injury-free impact star players hitting free agency very often. Though there have been a couple recently. Amd they cost 1/3 of a billion dollars.

Slugger Eric Thames is in agreement on a one-year deal with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball, as first reported by Sports Hochi. Reports out of Japan have pegged the one-year contract’s value in the vicinity of $1.2MM, though the precise number remains unclear

Arbitration projections have him likely to get 18.6M for next year. Not many teams want to add that. So yes the cost in trade should be low. You could PROBABLY even get the Cubs to take a smaller contract you don't want, or have them pay part of his salary, to go along with giving them a prospect that they do want. And if he's good next year you probably make him a QO and collect a draft pick. With all that in mind I think they probably just keep him though
