  1. So Lindor and Bauer it is...
  2. The MLB network hosts (mostly previous GMs with contacts) talk about it like it's extremely likely to happen
  3. Why are there still 3 separate rules and systems for acquiring: 1. North American players 2. Players from Venezuela/Dominican Republic/Puerto Rico etc (plus Cubans have to defect) 3. Korea and Japan
  4. I think he was referring to the Jays signing Russel Martin, but I don't see how that has anything to do with decisions to be made this off season
  5. You're right Its all open bidding now. Players can sign with whoever they want The Darvish / Rangers signing resulted in a change to all that. His Japanese team got way too much money and he himself got underpaid. It was a pretty stupid system.
  6. They really should have anyway Owner wanted him extended from day 1 so he must be willing to pay the price
  7. Zero prospect cost, zero draft pick cost and probably reasonable $. At worst he's a useful utility infielder and at best an exciting above average every day player. I'd take the gamble if you're worried you can't get Springer or Lindor right now and he's willing to sign. Let's do this and use $$/trade chips for starting pitching
  8. Brian Cashman had an interview on YES today Tidbits borrowed from MLBTR Cashman indicated the Yankees are intent on bringing back second baseman DJ LeMahieu, who’s among baseball’s elite free agents, but he isn’t sure if an agreement will come together. Although LeMahieu also has interest in returning to the team, Cashman doesn’t believe a deal is any closer to materializing than it was previously. Shortstop Gleyber Torres might be a fit for the keystone, though, as Cashman admitted, “I think he’s a better second baseman than shortstop On Sanchez. the Yankees still believe in the 28-year-old, saying, “There’s certainly an anticipation and an expectation of a bounce-back for Gary Sanchez.” The GM noted that Sanchez was an All-Star in 2019 who’s perennially a 30-home run type, adding that he paced all major league catchers in exit velocity. “No one hit the ball harder at that position than he did
  9. They probanly get Springer. Goddammit. Happy f'n Hannukah.
  10. Wish AA was here to convince them all to sign Acuna/Albies style contracts... Kidding
  11. The Rangers are set to acquire first baseman Nate Lowe from the Tampa Bay Rays for catcher Heriberto Hernandez and other prospects, writes MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand (via Twitter).
  12. They might as well have just re-hired Ruben Amaro Jr
  13. He'll insist on retaining Realmuto for over 100 million dollars
  14. Turner would be great too. Perennial 3-5 WAR, 130 wRC+ and will get a short term deal at 36. There really are some good options for the Jays
  15. So we added Sebastian Espino via the AAA rule 5 draft.. 20 year old Dominican born infielder. https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=espino000seb
  16. Espino minor league stats. 20 year old Dominican born infielder. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=espino000seb

  19. Yadi Molina's agent has stated that the Cardinals have only made him a "ridiculous" offer What teams would want in? Tampa? New York? Angels?
  20. I'm totally down for Kim if we also sign Springer and use our trade chips for a frontline starter instead of for Lindor. I'm also good signing Bauer and trading for an OF or 3B/SS. (Arenado/Story/Lindor etc) There are lots of ways of improving the team.
  21. Yes! Normally I'd lack enthusiasm but then I remind myself... There is only approx 70M committed to the 2021 payroll so far. We have a bunch of young talented players making league minimum. The only salaries of 10M plus are to Roark, Grichuk and Ryu. We only have to pay Troll Tulowitski 4 million dollars next year LOL. The team seems committed to winning soon and building. I don't think it's at all unreasonable to see payroll go to what, 110-120M maybe? I'd love to know how high ownership will let Atkins go this unusual off season. There are game changing players available and the division might be a little softer than usual....
  22. Is Pache going to continue the string of almost every Braves prospect breaking out big?
