  1. I wouldn't give up $15,000,000 for the sake of some pride and a tiny chance of getting lucky on a new club, would you??
  2. Beats me. But I'm sure AA knows. He's probably spent 1000 hours thinking about it.
  3. I know. But I want players who want to play hard and win no matter what the situation. Do I want a top 10 protected pick? Yes. But that's not what Inwant the players thinking about on the field. And of course they don't.
  4. Confusing but I think Ricky can refuse a minor league assignment and become a FA any time, but why would he? No other team is going to pay him anywhere near the 7.5 M x 2 years the Jays are on re hook for.
  5. 1. Article XX (. A player with at least 6 years of Major League service time and no contract for the next season is eligible for free agency and may negotiate with any club. CBA, Article XX (. 2. Outright of a three-year player. A player with three years of Major League service who is assigned outright to the minor leagues may 1) refuse the assignment and elect immediate free agency or 2) accept the assignment and elect free agency between the end of the Major League season and Oct. 15, unless the player is returned to the Major League roster before electing free agency. A player who qualified for arbitration as a Super Two in the previous off-season and is subsequently sent outright to the minor leagues may refuse the assignment and elect immediate free agency but may not accept the assignment and elect free agency at the end of the season. 3. Second outright assignment. A player who is assigned outright to the minor leagues for the second time for any subsequent time in his career may 1) refuse the assignment and elect immediate free agency or 2) accept the assignment and elect free agency between the end of the Major League season and Oct. 15, unless the player is returned to the Major League roster before electing free agency.
  6. Holy s*** if we hold on win this... Tanknation or not, I'm so tired of losing to Tampa I'm loving this.
  7. Think it's worth Elvis Andrus?
  8. Yep. I can almost accept the .250 ish BA, but still too way too many K's and nowehere near enough walks. OBP < .300
  9. Angels two more errors (now 5!!!) and Rangers up 7-4
  10. Yet Sierra swings at the ONE ball in the dirt for a strikeout Ug
  11. Awesome, thanks More guys with options than I expected, but a lot of them are clearly MLB caliber and therefore their options don't matter as much (Delabar, Rogers, Santos) It's guys like Jeffress and the Perez's that you wish you could stash in AAA
  12. I post this just for those who might not have bothered watching but now might to see what he says
  13. They are bad The guys batting 2-5 today should be the bottom of the order EE, Bautista, Rasmus all missing is the problem
  14. Buck just said he'll be in the booth during tomorrow's game Curious if he gives us anything useful to chew on...
  15. Since you had to win ~ 90 games to make the wildcard that's a successful season. (Depending a bit on your level of expectation and payroll of course.)
  16. Tabby agrees. Just discussed it on the air.
  17. Can hardly find anything on him http://www.pointstreak.com/baseball/player.html?playerid=80170
  18. http://www.canadianbaseballnetwork.com/articles/top-prospects-t12-others/ Not too many people were talking about Andrew Case, the Saint. John N.B. native, before the tournament. The 20-year-old pitcher had to take a back seat behind his Martimes teammate J.P. Stevenson, as well as hurlers Kurtis Horne from Sooke, B.C. and Zach Pop from Ontario Black. This was until he threw his first no-hitter in the semi-finals against Quebec White, striking out 13 batters in the process. Receiving handshakes and congratulations from the likes of Roberto Alomar can’t hurt his stock. “Big atmosphere on a big stage like this, it’s a good feeling to do it here,” said the member of the Prairie Baseball Academy after the game. “Hopefully, it will help a lot to get recognized, hopefully they [scouts] noticed.” Performing well at events like Tournament 12 can only help players who are not on everybody’s radar.

  20. Lawrie redeems himslef with a tough catch oin foul territory.
  21. Yep. Goins had to walk across the mond to get from that. Happ's or Lawrie's ball.
