We should recommend to Fangraphs and BBRef that they call this stat "man-O-WAR" (managerial obligatory wins against replacement).
Metal fans, and the Portugese, would love it.
Exactly
I'm just joking around too because there's nothing fun to talk about re this team
Best recent example was discussed at length on FAN590 recently. Bruce Boachy was manager of the year and wins the World Series. This year the Giants might finish dead last in the NL West. Is he suddenly terrible? Of course not. 95% of a team's record is because of the team the GM put together and the play/luck/health of the players. Managers can blow a game here and there or steal a win here and there but unless it's someone poisonous who makes the players hate playing (eg. Valentine circa 2012) it doesn't matter that much.
Mets are punting 2014 I'm sure so they are probably more worried about the few years after.
Harvey
Wheeler
Niese
Syndergaard
In 2015/2016 could be pretty damn good
They'll need more offense tho
Slow motion: Granderson swings wildly at a slider, misses badly and collapses in a heap on the ground.
Girardi in the Yankees dugout yells to Tanaka: "You killed Curtis! You bastard!"
Not much love for Esmil Rogers on here, huh?
I'd take him at his salary over Happ at his, any day of the week
(Granted, there are zero Happ defenders these days)
I agree with you for once - losing Gomes isn't the problem. Having JPA as our starting catcher all season long was the problem. As long as that is rectified this off season I couldn't give a s*** about Yan Gomes.
