  1. Wow. Walked in the go ahead run. Good relievers shouldn't ougtta do that.
  2. Lawrie not swinging at first pitch. Like
  3. Agreed actually I can't help but get excited when good things happen. Mostly I want the young guys to perform well.
  4. Yeah we need some points in that thing. It's unbelievable how few points have been scored.
  5. So... Is DeRosa aware of tank nation or not??
  6. Wow lucky (Or unlucky if you want full tank mode)
  7. Wow They really want to get it done this year
  8. If we get shut out by Guthrie I think I'll vomit
  9. Very true Guilty But in this case I like the eye test on defense, not just the hitting stats.
  10. Dammit. This KC outfield is killing us.
  11. Howarth says Goins has just matched the Blue Jays record for hitting streak by a rookie at 8 games. Quiz for those not listening on radio - who previously held that record?
  12. Good job Dickey Gotta keep these fast guys off base
  13. On a positive note, the insane home runs for Rogers Centre compared to other stadiums is normalizing. Because the home team suddenly isn't hitting any and the pitching has been tolerable.
  14. I just looked up his stats. I didn't realize his BA and slipped under .265 and his OBP to .313. That's pretty pedestrian, especially for a guy who is played preferentially against lefties. He's really fallen off since his hot first half.
  15. Sorry if posted. Chase Utley hits a ball to the ivy wall in Wrigley and a second ball pops out into play. Pretty funny. http://wapc.mlb.com/cutfour/2013/08/30/59024796/chase-utley-hits-triple-into-wrigley-ivy-two-balls-come-out
  16. Yep. In recent interviews Lawrie has talked about the importance to him of becoming a "162 game" player. Don't know if I can see that but if he becomes less reckless and stays in great shape hopefully he at least can avoid seasons with 2-3 long DL stints.
  17. Bringing the Rajai Davis discussion here where it belongs and out of the Bonifacio thread. Rajai has provided fantastic value this year at a measly 2.5 million dollars. He won't come that cheap next year. He's built his value up. How much to sign Rajai for 2-3 more years? Also, would he accept the job here knowing he won't get a full time play? (Technically, he's always been the 4th OF but seems to play in about 2/3 to 3/4 of games anyway due to injuries to the other 3, his pinch running skills, and due his ability to hit LHP) Could we convince him to stay and platoon with Gose? Is that even a good idea? He'll be 32 next year and can probably get one nice 2-3 year contract before his value plummets. Will it be here? If not, where? Your thoughts please
  18. You know what? You're probably right. If AA extends Rasmus this off season before the arbitration deadline (which I think he should), the money just might not be there for Rajai. Plus he might insist on a full time job, something we just cant offer, but there are teams that could. I could see him in KC or Philadeplhia actually. We're obviously not going to be able to get him for another season at 2.5 MM. He's built his value up to way more than that. Unless we jettison Melky (unlikely) and decide to platoon Gose and Davis (probably not the best idea anyway), he's probably gone.
