  1. They both use a 3rd party service (or multiple ones I think).

  5. We're not saying you never intentionally walk him, you just don't put the tying run on base and winning run at the plate for free late in the game. In other situations that come up, you absolutely walk him. With regards to the original Bonds analogy, I guess if it was like Bonds followed by a pitcher with no one left on the bench, maybe you'd do it? That's certainly not the situation with Devers followed by Duvall though.
  6. Still no (although I realize some managers approached that particular situation differently).
  7. You never, ever put the tying run on base for free late in the game, especially with less than 2 outs and a left on left matchup. You make them earn it.
  8. You don't walk him in that situation. That would be a terrible idea.
  9. To be fair, they probably only have time to look at one angle in slow motion once before the manager has to make a decision. I suspect Schneider is just more aggressive on challenging the close calls, especially when it's late and there's not much to lose by doing so.
  10. Are we renewing this league or moving it over to Fantrax?
  11. Bichette - 1 Point Vladdy 1 Point Springer - 2 Points Schneider- 2 Points - JayaAllMighty Varsho - 4 Points - Abomination Chapman - 4 Points - Omar Kirk - 5 Points Biggio - 5 Points - Dylan, Candy Maldonado, Spanky Kiermaier - 7 Points Off the bench: 10 Points

  13. Vladdy must really, really hate worms.
  14. Fantrax has some interesting new categories. Just throwing these out as possibilities (not saying we should necessarily do them. I actually kind of like the simplified categories): Wins -> Wins + Saves HR, SB -> HR + SB, add something (some form of total bases maybe?) Hits -> HBBHBP (hits + walks + hbp) Holds -> IRS+H (inherited runners saved + holds, which would elevate closers slightly as well)
  15. That devalues all relievers further though. I'm not sure that's necessarily good.
  16. Yeah, I don't like that send with none out. 2 outs, sure, go for it. It DID take a perfect play by Texas to (maybe) nail him though.
  17. We're just using all P slots in the BBDL. People can use whatever strategy they like as long as they meet a min innings threshold. I don't know if I like it or not, but it does lead to more varied strategies. One of the problems with closers is that save opportunities are very sporadic. It's kind of like the power play categories in the hockey league.
  18. Sept 11 (7:07pm) Bichette - 1 Point - robinthicc, Candy Maldonado Vladdy - 1 Point - LTBF Springer - 2 Points - wilko Belt - 2 Points - Omar Schneider - 3 Points - jays4life19, Abomination Varsho - 3 Points - JaysAllMighty Kirk - 5 Points - Dylan Biggio - 5 Points - Spanky Kiermaier - 7 Points - Off the bench: 10 Points
  19. Isn't it KC that for years had this kind of luck? Nice to see the tables turn.
  20. I'll take bench for Saturday
  21. I absolutely HATE the early pitching changes. That said, we're also 2nd overall in ERA, 6th in xFIP and 4th in WAR so I guess we're doing something right.
  22. Sept 6 (3:37pm) Vladdy 1 Point - Abomination Springer - 2 Points - JaysAllMighty Schneider- 3 Points - Omar, Candy Maldonado Merrifield - 3 Points Varsho - 3 Points Biggio - 5 Points - Spanky Espinal - 8 Points - WryNGinger Clement - 8 Points - Wilko, Dylan Heineman - 8 Points Off the bench: 10 Points
  23. Bassitt preparing to come into the game in relief of himself. Bold move, going after that win and save.
  24. Well, at least this game is flying. It could be worse. It could be a 4 hour 0-0 Yankees special.
