  1. Apparently you get them to marry a nutritionist.
  2. Personally I'm hoping Manoah bounces back to 2021 and 2022 form, but whatever floats your boat.
  3. Sign him and only have him start on the road!
  4. You peaked too early. It's all downhill from here.
  5. Probably further down the alphabet than that. I do like the signing though.
  6. We should probably see what the new owners are like before running around in a panic. Private equity groups may very well prioritize profit over on-field performance. It's hard to see they being worse than the disfunction the Orioles had though.
  7. In his career, he has a 102 wRC+ vs lefties and a 106 wRC+ vs righties. I'm sure that would drop a bit if he was consistently facing the nasty lefties, but he's not as bad as people are making him out to be. He also has 41 home runs in 1200 PA. We're basically talking about a league average bat that plays roughly league average defense (if you keep him out of the outfield) and has 20hr pop.
  8. I think Dickey was close to 80 mph with the knuckleball before coming to the Jays, and it was absolutely filthy at that speed.
  9. We don't know what the Jays internal projections say about those players. It's not like the front offices just look at Fangraphs for their information. You can bet what they use is far more advanced.
  10. I guess it's possible some of those teams may have had interest and their players told them hell no.
  11. You'd think someone like the Rays would sign him. They have no fans to piss off anyway.
  12. He's probably not allowed to delete his account and start over anymore. I'm sure even the service formerly known as Twitter has limits.
  13. That writeup does NOT like Schneider's defense at 2nd. It doesn't really jive with what we actually saw last year. I wouldn't call him an amazing defender, but it felt like he was probably league average. Saying he's well below average and giving him a 30 grade seems a bit harsh.
  14. Or maybe to the Giants for JD Davis.
  15. You'd have to think the Jays could probably move Bassett if they wanted to as well, especially if they were receiving a bigger contract in return from someone desperate for a good starter and a little tight on their finances. It's possible we could address a hole that way as well, and we probably have the depth now that we could.
  16. That's interesting. I assumed based on rumors and some front office stuff that there was no chance he would resign here. Now I'm kind of wondering if they may be able to resign him in the offseason and basically just rented him for a bunch of 1st rounders.
  17. Definitely feels a bit weird, but I like that he reasons out the picks and doesn't just copy and paste other lists.
  18. With Vlad's power I don't even agree with that part of it. I think the problem is that he's too good at making contact, so when he swings at balls he can't do damage with he puts them in play instead of fouling them off or swinging through them. He just needs to do a better job picking what he swings at.
  19. I wonder what the plan is? It doesn't feel like they're looking to fully rebuild. At the same time, there doesn't appear to be much in the way of elite players available in FA anytime soon.
  20. Huh, so basically 3 first round draft picks for Pascal, and maybe we're able to flip Bruce Brown?
  21. I wonder if we might see the Jays move to a 6 day rotation next year (each of the 4 main starters goes every 7th day)? That would mean some weeks might have a 4 man rotation and some might have a 6 man rotation. Last year with 4 days of rest our starting pitchers put up a 2.72 SO/W, .254 BA, .325 OBP, .421 SLG. On 5 days of rest they put up a 3.50 SO/W, .227 BA, .292 OBP, .381 SLG. That's a pretty substantial difference. Manoah and Rodriguez could both be skipped on weeks with 2 off days or both go on weeks with none.
  22. Interesting that they seem to be targeting contact hitters over pure tools. The Cards had some pretty good success with that for years, so maybe there's something to it.
  23. If more and more teams are moving away from traditional starting pitching anyway, it may make sense. They're probably not looking for him to go more than 4 or 5 innings or twice through the order.
  24. They released the 2 minute report today and concluded that the only two missed calls were two additional ones that should have been called against the Raps and weren't. The problem appears to be deeper than just the refs, because that 4th quarter was complete nonsense.
  25. LeBron thinks he's been fouled if someone breathes on him.
