  1. I'd definitely rather pay that for a proven guy than close to that (when posting fee is factored in) for a guy who's ceiling might be Hamels if everything goes right.
  2. Almost certainly not, but if THAT didn't fix the rotation nothing will...
  3. Even if he did trade them, it would be smarter for him to eat a bunch of salary and get a BIG return than to expect another team to eat it all for a minimal one.
  4. I like this version of Gsnarls lol
  5. I think they'd need more for Scherzer too, and with 1 year left for him I'm not sure I'd want to give up even Sanchez to be honest. I think you can rule out Price too (they're asking for even more than Shark and Sale). Lee, Hamels, or Chacin could be interesting.
  6. Then as much as I love Butler's bat (especially when his bad defense doesn't come into play), I don't think you can even think about that deal (unless you're the one getting Niese and Ogando of course)
  7. Does it follow real life salary?
  8. Agreed. I'd like to add though that I think the mods shouldn't be allowed to add them to their ignore list.
  9. I agree that Ackley would be an excellent option, but it seems from reports that Seattle would rather keep him. I'd still be thrilled to get the "consolation prize" of Franklin though
  10. That would be creatively interesting, but it wouldn't work since they'd have no ability to pull him back after he was posted (ie, literally every team would have to be in on the ploy). They'd have no ability to make that demand otherwise.
  11. I'm pretty sure I saw an article on Loewen the other day that said he signed with an NL club or something, but I can't find it now. It wasn't MLBTR.
  12. Johnsonalanatto (can't remember if that's what we ended up calling it or not, but it was something like that). Best semi-platoon we ever had!
  13. Especially with the prices relievers are getting on the open market right now. Someone will need a good one to finish off their pen and be near their payroll ceiling.
  14. It's all about the Diaz!
  15. In some ways, it would make sense to have McGowan in the rotation to start the year for that very reason. McGowan would have to be moved to the pen at some point anyway (I'd imagine) due to how few innings he's pitched. As for Redmond, I still think it could be Drabek that gets that slot out of spring training.
  16. Man, can you imagine what BTS' reaction would be if THAT happened?
  17. I like that AA seems to adapt. JPR seemed very fixed in his strategy, and seemed to have no real idea how to modify it when it didn't work.
  18. I'm not even sure I would put the Red Sox in that category. They definitely have the potential though when things go mostly right for them like last year.
  19. Most of the ones that aren't top tier are probably no better than our in-house options.
  20. I would hope that's an asking price NO team would meet.
  21. I don't recall ANYONE saying that
  22. Yeah, me neither. Hard to argue too much with the options being talked about in some order though. Anyhow, everyone knows you'd probably take a pitcher
  23. I doubt it. I don't see how they could possibly rely on him for anything close to full time health. I could see it as a precursor to trading Ackley or Saunders though.
  24. Considering the very real possibility of two vacancies in the outfield for 2015, it wouldn't be that bad an idea.
