  1. I would think they'd need at minimum two days for the physical, travel time, and final contract language details, and I think the signing period ends sometime on Friday. It would make sense that he'd have to sign tomorrow at the latest. I'm assuming Wilner is just using common sense (for once).
  2. I don't know specifically about the AL East, but his career numbers appear to suggest he improves very marginally after the 6th. Last year was too small a sample size, but peripherals seem to agree with that assessment.
  3. How do you figure Buehrle is now only 170 to 180 innings, the 13 straight years he's thrown over 200?
  4. I find it incredible that he comes to the states for a few days (apparently only to a single city), meets with teams, then flies back. If I was planning on signing a contract somewhere for the next 6 years, I'd want to visit each place I was considering and really look around to make sure it was the right fit.
  5. I suppose McGowan might not be on an official one, but I'd suspect they would move him to the pen in the second half and promote a kid. With that said, if McGowan is in the rotation half a year with the depth we'll have next year, then he's pitching well and staying healthy, and that's a really really good thing!
  6. The source of that was Griffin though, who seems to have been completely shut out from the Jays front office for a long time. I suspect that he's right, but I also suspect that it's a pure guess on his part.
  7. McGowan and Hutch pretty much have to be on inning limits. I could see Morrow not being on one though.
  8. I'm not sure what to think about Forsythe. My main concern about him would be defensively, but the possibility of his OBP is very intriguing. Being a righty bat also helps.
  9. JPA was at almost 45% ... of course Bonds in 2004 had more than 3 times as many walks that year as JPA has had in his entire career.
  10. Unbelievable that a 30 point deficit basically turned into a single missed free throw.
  11. That's odd. It should just be an .ods file (open document format since I wasn't sure everyone had excel, and this should open in things like open office or libre office as well). I can send you the excel version though if you like. I only zipped it since the attachment feature on here doesn't accept most formats (but oddly does accept zips).
  12. I put the draft results into a spreadsheet (attached) for anyone who finds that easier.DDL Draft Results.zip

Both teams are going to have some gassed defensemen by the end of the game.

5 mins into the game and 152 combined penalty minutes between the two teams.

Lmao! 1 second into the game and there's 5 simultaneous fights in the Canucks / Flames game.
  18. It depends. It's possible that Tanaka said specifically that he wasn't interested in Toronto, in which case there's no point. I don't recall who listed the teams who bid, but unless the list was posted by his agent it's also possible that other teams bid that have been kept quiet so far.
  19. Heh, I didn't realize Capuano was a free agent. I thought his option had been picked up.
  20. I wish he threw a little harder, but I think I'd be okay with him as well.
  21. Well I didn't say top pitcher, but the Cubs aren't a contender (hence Shark or Jackson). If the Dodgers get him, they'll have 7 or 8 starters. One or two pretty much HAVE to go.
  22. Depending on who signs Tanaka, we could see a starting pitcher from that team possibly shake loose in the aftermath as well. Edwin Jackson perhaps? He's definitely not a top of the rotation guy, but his contract looks a hell of a lot better now and he's reasonably solid.
  23. Or you could split the bet among the teams most likely to win. As long as you pick fewer teams than the lowest of the odds, you probably have a pretty good chance of winning overall.
