  1. I still think he's a big breakout candidate, but yeah I did draft him too high. Also, I don't think Seattle wants to trade Ackley (and certainly wouldn't trade both).
  2. Saunders and Franklin would be awesome targets for US imo.
  3. One thing is for certain, they appear to be trying to corner the market on players who can't play defense.
  4. Where the hell are the Mariners going to play him?
  5. I should also mention that not all grass is equal either. Some stadiums keep the grass longer and some shorter, which affects how much the ball slows down before it gets to the infielders. What we need is FieldFX, and the sooner the better.
  6. People also have to remember that Alomar was pretty much literally playing on carpet. Ground balls would shoot through the infield like a bat out of hell, so I have no doubt that defensive metrics wouldn't like him as much. Even today I think our infielder's metrics are affected a little by the turf (which I don't think they take into account), and the stuff we have now isn't even close to comparing with the old carpet.
  7. You must not have been watching the first half. Beyond ugly.
  8. Soooooo painful
  9. Yeah, this is painful
  10. Hard to at 3.5M or whatever, but he might not be the worst option in the world as the 4th outfielder / pinch run specialist.
  11. Yup. One of the things from last year that stood out was that a home run early in the game gave people in the competition nothing extra to cheer for the rest of the game. The extra points for things like 2 in a game, etc help that a little. Maybe something like bonus for walk offs, home run in extra innings or late in the game, etc.
  12. Furthest home run that week? The occasional time with all home runs counting is kind of nice too
  13. I don't think you start a prospect off in the pen in April, but I think it's a fantastic way to do it in the second half of the season.
  14. And they compounded it even more this offseason
  15. There ARE a handful of people here who think he just might, just not the majority.
  16. Seattle has a number of players that are expendable for them and would be good fits for us. I'd imagine a guy like Happ would make a certain amount of sense for them too, especially in Safeco and considering two rookies in their rotation might be pushing it. They may be scared to deal with the Jays though after the last few trades we made with them
  17. I think you're forgetting just how horrible Fielder's contract is.
  18. Wasn't JPR the one that backed out of that deal, or am I misremembering?
  19. This would be my thought as well, as there were reports that the Jays definitely made Buehrle available (sneaking suspicion that Buehrle has asked to be traded if the team can find a return it can live with). It could also be possible that it involved Santos and JPA though.
  20. Ughhh, can I go back in time and NOT click on the link?
  21. Great job! I'll go through the actual reports a little later when I have more time, but looks very thorough and high quality.
  22. Works fine for me
  23. No one could possibly EVER say anything bad about him again if he did something epic like that!
