They say 5/90ish in that article, but from what I remember, the price on Shields is 5/110. Maybe that'll come down, but I don't blame teams for balking at it.
I think in general, sinkerballers are always going to have low swinging strike rates because frankly, the pitch is designed to be hit. That doesn't mean they can't be highly successful. Henderson Alvarez just posted a 3.57 xFIP season (2.65 era), and Derek Lowe had hugely valuable seasons as a starter for years. I think Sanchez has the secondary stuff to completely dominate though, if he can finish harnessing it.
It seems to me that the only media guy with actual insider info is Shi. Maybe Wilner has heard something, but I find it hard to trust other sources too much.

I think my preference would be for Toritani, but it makes way too much sense for us to get one of these two guys.
It would be nice if we'd land one of the two foreign guys for 2B. I have no clue which one is better overall, but we have the need, and the cost shouldn't be prohibitive.
