    Spittin selected Burrows (would have been great if he had let someone know). I pick Cody Eakin. TCA is on the clock, and has been PM'd.

    I had to look him up too. Had a good year last year in the minors, but is 26 and has played 5 years in the AHL without sniffing any NHL action. Definitely not who I would have selected from the remaining goalies.

    Yeah, it's annoying that those 3 aren't yet, but it doesn't really matter as long as they're there before opening day.

    Yeah, I have three on the farm myself, and also protected Anton Forsberg for that reason.

    It should pick up some steam, provided GD doesn't draft owned prospects, then take another 8 hours to make up his mind on a replacement again.

    I wouldn't peg him as "quite obviously not legit" based solely on rest of season projections. I assume Dinger has something else he's found to suggest it.

    Yeah, it was Pillar's ball, and he WAS calling for it. Pretty tough to look up on a play like that to make sure everyone else bails. Goins heard him and bailed. As you said, it was just unfortunate.

    I like what they offer. The interface is hideous though.

    The ability to have a minor league roster for keeper leagues, and the league staying open during the offseason would be nice too.

    I don't think his waiver priority is high enough to get either.

    It's hard to when it's been enforced against others this year already, but perhaps your being away is worth an exception. Maybe a forced waiver claim (you go from 11th to 30th in priority?)

    Yeah, it's pretty good. I actually use it some for following DFS games too, since it's so easy to switch between games and view who's up.

    I thought so too, at least in general. It's going to make the draft a little more interesting for sure.

    I wonder if they have permission from the NHL to do that, or they're just located somewhere where the law doesn't care?

    Boy, they really sock it to you with that 546% exchange rate! In all seriousness though, that kinda sucks. Hopefully you guys can get it resolved.

    Hmmm, yeah, you're right. Rogers holds some of the regional ones too, but in separate deals. Apparently for games where they hold both, they can show them nationally as well. They still are showing 200+ national games this year, and they have NHL Center Ice revenue, and Gamecenter Live as well (not to mention they pawned off the french language rights for a nice sum).

    You're forgetting regional games. Sportsnet is showing 500+ games this year, 200+ of which are national. The deal also includes NHL Center Ice rights for Canadians.

    The NHL deal is to cover ALL NHL games, not just the Leafs. They show a hell of a lot more than 3 games a week.

    I think the bigger issue with the defense (at least at a position like CF), is that in general, speed declines much faster, and at a younger age. If I remember right, there's a big drop off around 23 to 24, and another in the 27 to 29 range. This is likely due to the addition of muscle, which is typical for players in these age ranges. There ARE players who see very little decline in their legs, but not many. My fear with someone like Heyward, would be that a reasonable loss in his speed probably turns him into a 2.5 to 3 WAR player. Still plenty valuable, but not the 5+ WAR guy he is right now. Trout is a perfect example of the speed decrease (although his bat is so damned good, it more than makes up for it).
