Pretty entertaining game here in the 3rd. I'm not sure I'd call it hockey though, seems like something that would come out of an WWE owned league.

    NHL Thread

The second hit was clearly to the head. The first was fine. And man, this year is gonna suck to be a Canucks fan.
  3. I wouldn't rule it out, but I suspect they'd prefer not to plan based on requiring that. It certainly wouldn't hurt to maybe have room at DH for being creative though.
  4. Perception and reality aren't always the same thing.
  5. Well, two years (this last one even better) suggests less of a fluke than a single year. 8 war over the last 2 years isn't unsignificant, and a move to a corner outfield spot would drastically increase his defensive value. I wouldn't pay 20 per for him, but I think someone will.
  6. Ethier would be that type of deal imo (not sure they'd give up assets as well, but may eat some salary).
  7. I think Fowler could get more like 5/100, which I wouldn't be particularly in favor of. I'd love to get him at 4/60.
  8. This is exactly why I feel strongly that this kind of thread shouldn't happen. I have no issue with banter in general.
  9. Eddie Cecil Reddick Tolleson
  10. I like King, but he really deserves a short ban for making a thread like this (and the thread should be deleted). If you don't like Boxy, put him on your ignore list. The discussion yesterday about growing the board? It's s*** like this that scare people away.
  11. People sure go squirrely the day after the world series.
  12. I think in order for the board to grow, we would need to offer more to draw people here. Many people aren't interested in regularly posting about their teams (except to bitch). Heck, the only thing that keeps activity at the current level is likely the fantasy teams. If we had a large site with the message boards as just one component (like integrating the blog, keeping a steady stream of articles on the blog, maybe a DFS site, etc), we'd grow.
  13. Moss wasn't good defensively in the years he didn't play much in the OF, but whenever he's gotten a decent amount of time out there, he's been average to slightly plus. I don't know what was up with his second half last year, but there's not much difference in the peripherals aside from a brutal babip.
  14. Moss isn't going to be qualified. He's not a first choice, but he'd be a very good backup plan.
  15. Charlie Morton could possibly be interesting as a reliever. Ground ball pitcher, wipeout curve, and the fastball should play up in relief.
  16. I'd expect he'll get 3/20 from someone. Anything below that would be a steal imo.
  17. I am really, really glad we have Gibby instead of Maddon as our manager.
  18. Man, Ross got rocked on that. I'd love to see this game get tied up (don't really care who wins it).
  19. Yep. That might have made the highlights in the NHL.
  20. Well he was just trying to get the knee to where he could play at all after last year. A full offseason of being able to strengthen it properly, etc could improve his defensive ability a bit. He may never be plus, but if he could get back to only being slightly negative he could put up some really nice value.
  21. I think it's reasonable to ask if Saunders will improve his defense (at least a bit) with a normal offseason this year.
  22. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see if the bone spur surgery makes a difference or not. One thing about guys with great stuff, is that they can only be a tweak away from taking off. Hopefully he figures it out.
  23. I wouldn't mind us taking a shot at picking up Singleton from Houston. He has very little value atm, but a change in scenery may get him fixed. High walk rates and acceptable K rates, just seems to have some contact issues.
  24. I don't see that happening. Someone would give him close to 20M on a 1 year deal I would think (quite likely us included). The question is what GMs are willing to give him on a three or four year deal.
  25. Well, the Reds are rebuilding and have a low payroll. With 22M next year and 25M the years after, they may want to get out from under the contract. Certainly there'd be some acquisition cost, but dunno what it would be.
