  1. LMAO, someone get a ref that can throw the ball up straight.
  2. Barnes and Dermody have put up some stupidly good numbers in the minors the last two years. They're probably not much different than most of what's left on the open market, except they'll cost the min. That said, I'd love to nab Romo or Shawn Tolleson before the Rays agreement gets finalized, and of course Holland.
  3. I was wondering that too. Missed the first few mins.
  4. LF is questionable, but the rest of the lineup should be very, very good. Adding someone like Moss would be incredible, but that's a lineup that should be able to compete.
  5. You need to post the view link.
  6. It kinda sounds like they're discussing various scenarios regarding contract length, but perhaps have a fallback option they've both agreed on or something.
  7. Or Ang ate the paperwork while the burro watched.
  8. Yeah, good for Saunders, and I wish him well. With his questionable knee, I wouldn't have wanted us to pay that much.
  9. Wait, this is a perfect time to trade with King I think ...
  10. If his bat bounces back and he returns to 4 to 6 WAR, I don't care if he's in the OF. 1B would be ideal, but he's miles ahead of all the other available options. Signing Moss too for LF would make it even better.
  11. Interesting, apparently Rosenthal is going to be stretched out this spring, but to be used in an Andrew Miller type role rather than the starting rotation.
  12. I took 2 categories by 1 total save. You just got a little bit unlucky.
  13. If they're asking for any kind of an asset, I can't see it happening unless they're also eating the contract.
  14. Hardly. If they were, we wouldn't be talking about catcher framing not being included, or things like spin rates. However, the systems are currently the best we have at (most) of our disposals, and far better than our own intuition.
  15. Smoak is still a prospect, right? Someone set the calendars in the Mets offices back a few years.
  16. I have 17 goals coming into today and am losing the category lol.
  17. Gagne still has an arm attached?
  18. He was a pretty good target at the deadline. He knew most of the staff already, and they seemed to like throwing to him. His bat was really as good or better than most backups (or should have been). The familiarity is less an issue with a full spring training to work in a new catcher though, so I think it's less likely that he'll be signed now (depending on market).
  19. Wow, this game turned around fast. Funny what happens when you actually decide to put in some effort.
  20. If you were Iannetta, would you rather be stuck behind Martin or Herrmann/Mathis (I'm guessing)? Probably not just about dollars.
  21. Definitely. He may have got playing time guarantees there he couldn't get elsewhere though, plus we don't know how much the incentives are yet.
  22. Well, the idea is to have high WAR players in all positions, you just can't buy them all in FA. You have to have a constant development stream of good players too to keep the payroll at a reasonable level.
  23. He put up 3.8 WAR last year in his age 25 season (finally broke out). I'd call that a pretty good year. Have to see if he can build on it.
  24. And how many for the outfield have signed that people wanted? Fowler and Reddick? Guys like Bautista and Moss are still good options.
