  1. Iglesias...by the metrics had a worse year. Lindor...not eligible (5 games short) Hardy...an argument could be made but he was barely eligible and there isn't a huge difference here.
  2. Longo over Donaldson is a bit of an oversight IMO. Moreland overlooked at 1B, as was Chris Davis. Where is Forsythe at 2nd...why am I bothering these don't matter at all.
  3. Texas fired the Maddux's (Mike Pitching coach, Greg consultant) today too.
  4. No Grant wouldn't have wrote this
  5. how good are you projecting Tulo to be at 35? I project Tulo to be negative value starting around 2017...and probably even next year.
  6. I have no idea where he heard it from but one of my friends said that Shapiro after getting hired made some jokes about how AA insisted they take Gomes.
  7. I don't think your swearing cost the Jays wins...but if it did I think you are to blame for the ALCS
  8. I think there was some damage done before the Shapiro hiring but that probably could have been salvaged. I think if Shapiro was not hired that AA would be handed President and Tinnish would be GM
  9. If Kapler doesn't get the field manager position with the Dodgers (although I think he will) he'd be an interesting candidate. Smart, Jewish, blocked in the Dodgers F.O.
  10. Riccardi was stubborn and the worst person to give a mic to as you knew he'd say something stupid...but he did a good job at value hunting. He signed Wells to one great extension (and one horrible one, but that was long rumoured to be Godfrey against JP's wishes), and Halladay to two. He flipped an unhappy Glaus for Rolen. Flipped Rolen for Stewart and EE. He was good at making moves and keeping guys around for as long as they were valuable. Completely not a fan friendly GM though. The role he holds with the Mets now is the one that he should have always had.
  11. I don't believe that there is much of a difference in positions these days.
  12. Derek Falvey. New AGM in Cleveland. Shapiro plucked him pretty much out of school.
  13. He will not be a fan friendly GM IMO. Other than he's open, honest and on MLB radio every other day
  14. someone gotta give 25.56% Markus2222, TheHurl I wasn't even sure what this option meant as it was written in Mexican but what happened is what I thought would happen.
  15. What would have Bryant's K-Rates been if the 2010 era Jays got their hands on him?
  16. I can guarantee you this is the issue. Several insiders noted this when the whole Duquette stuff happened...AA expected to succeed Beest and had his GM (Tinnish) hand picked.
  17. I don't have an ego, so I'd be okay with it
  18. by host you mean "be the cracker" right?
  19. f*** you SMOKEY. This one was reserved for me. King or GD made that just so that I could play it when AA's ass was fired. Didn't exactly work out that way...but still you stole my thunder. I'm not sure if you and I can ever be the same again
  20. Minasian is one of the guys that re-assured AA with every single move he did. And hasn't a f***ing clue about baseball. It's great for the Jays that he is leaving.
  21. some of it was 100% true. This is about Ego. AA wanted the president job and has been grooming Tinnish for GM for at least two years. All the stuff that happened had to dig at AA
  22. started growing my Bautista beard already.
  23. AA has a huge ego and hates being around people smarter than himself. Maybe he can get a job as a first base coach somewhere. I am betting he ends up with Washington, calls it his Expos roots
  24. All the times I've talked about contact guys (specifically with prospects) over the years you'd think I'd respect the Royals more. Well at least there is Zorilla
  25. No but word is that Shapiro is going to bring in systems, some saber and player analysis, some training, some medical. While we'll probably never see if these work, it's ridiculous how few major league teams don't invest in this aspect. If I were a fan (and 50% of my most hated duo is out), I'd be a lot happier about the place the Jays are headed long term.
