  1. Yanks are certainly interesting. Do they have a nothing off-season and get under the luxury tax? Then spend huge 2018 with the best farm in baseball behind them?
  2. I know people are leery about making new threads and others hate the huge Around Baseball thread. So we'll throw everything in here. If you feel a trade is thread worthy, go ahead and make it. A mod might throw it in here or keep it. Don't fear making threads at this point in the season. If you start making a thread cause a thought popped in your head, you might get a warning email. Anyway Indians have added Lucroy and Miller in exchange for Frazier, Sheffield, Mejia, Allen and Chang. What I like about it: Indians added two talents players both of whom are under control for this year and next (Miller and the rest of the core for 2 seasons). They had the deepest system in baseball. They still have some pieces on the farm. This was not a full AA type all-in as the entire core is under control. What I don't like about it: They were 86% to win the division, 95% to make the playoffs...they could have traded the same prospects in the off season and did even better (or kept them). The playoffs are still a crapshoot and while this improved their team it's not like it writes them a ticket to the finals.
  3. overall the Fan 590 was up 31% last year. Got to figure the Jays were a huge factor in that.
  4. Not controllable and may actually cost a semi legit prospect but David Freese fits very well.
  5. I sent you an offer just in case. I'm sure you will counter at least.
  6. why does it seem that every time a new closer is anointed (assuming Watson is taking over) it's the guy who doesn't want anymore closers that has him.
  7. Sportsnet one games draw about 80% of Sportsnet games, and the Jays in 30 draws double. Rogers Cup finals drew 319,000...that would be probably nothing on Sportsnet One unless Milos was playing
  8. where were you in 1989
  9. McLennan Community College guy. Several of my former teammates went there (and Jay Buhner I believe).
  10. Ondrusek was always a favourite of mine. I didn't even know he was back from Japan.
  11. That's clever for an O's fan. I know you can't swear in the Hangout so I would have given him full props if he used "shifty"
  12. you try drinking what he does and tell the difference between left and right
  13. I give it two more days. Then it will be done with. If it's not then it's gone full Kalfus and I'll stop it before relatives come in to the pic
  14. I tried...it's not possible.
  15. Seanie Todd that's this guy right? http://static.independent.co.uk/s3fs-public/thumbnails/image/2016/04/07/10/sweeneytodd.jpg
  16. f*** I'm stupid...an error. I decided that I deserve to be called stupid so I didn't even bother to edit my statement.
  17. question for you and maybe I'm just too dumb/tired to figure it out. Papelbon today went 0.0 IP, 2 hits, 2 walks for an .800 OPBA. without recording an out, how is this possible? Oh yeah and Papelbon is on the blocks for a pick upgrade.
  18. Projection based on team fWAR...I didn't feel like doing math.
  19. using up to date projections the standings are: Burlington Bandit 60 John Havok 53 Dick Pole 50 Boxcar 48 Real Accountant 46 Speedy Gose and TheHurl 38 GD 34 Labadee 32 Greenwood 31 Grant 29 Terminator 23. A lot of tight spots right now though so much could change.
  20. Now I await the same response on our trade
  21. 10 day weeks shouldn't count. I want an asterisk on this.
  22. Site is blocked at work so I had to go with yesterday's "whatever" fits lineup
