  1. Bonds' plate discipline stats are ridiculous. In 2004, a 8.3 O-Swing% and 4.0 SwStr%. This is what made him such a great hitter: an insane natural ability to discern balls from strikes and to make contact. And he had prodigious natural power, 40+ SB speed in his early years and was a vacuum on D. The best player in baseball over a 25 year period.
  2. He lives! I can't even express how happy I am lol
  3. JFaS, who should I keep of Brett Oberholtzer and Grant Green? I'm leaning Oberholtzer but if Green can hit he'll be a much more valuable player. Whichever one I don't keep will be imminently available in trade for a pick upgrade.
  4. Or an elite OBPA guy. Zimmerman is both. ERA is only one category yet the way people obsess over FIP, xFIP and TIPS you'd think it was everything.
  5. Unless he visited those places often that's how it should be. Ace lives in West Orange, NJ (from the online accounts, the golf course and questions he has asked in KLaw chats). If you guys are using Google Analytics or something for the blog, maybe you could find the most active member of that town and see if he has visited in the past two weeks?
  6. So this was in Ecuador (maybe he was on vacation)? Very strange...
  7. There's no printed obituary yet so I like to think there's a chance it's a misunderstanding. JFaS, is the email you have for him the same as the one posted on this page? http://www.crestmontcountryclub.com/club/scripts/clubpers/view_clubpers.asp?SRC=L&PID=20453&GRP=12630&NS=GOLF&PT=G
  8. RIP. We will miss you Ace.
  9. BP ranked Hahn 6th on their Rays list, ahead of Taylor Guerrieri, and said "Hahn is legit, with a late-innings fastball that he can maintain into starts, a deep secondary arsenal that he can throw for strikes, and a good overall feel for pitching." There's definitely something there, worth a pick downgrade if you have the MiLB space.
  10. Same for me but with the MLB roster. I get to keep a different young pitcher now, and I really like Barnes.
  11. I would think there has to be a time limit too as there are many ways to stall a baseball game.
  12. No pitchers have signed for the skyrocketed price so I don't know if that's fair to say yet. AA said on PTS that the prices have fallen over the past two weeks and he expects that to continue. I still hold out hope for Jimenez on a reasonable
  13. I ended up nabbing my guy (Price, incidentally through you) so it worked out anyway. I should have gone through with the accepted portions of that deal without it all completed since they were advantageous on their own and the rest of the deal was close. That's what I'm going to do in the future.
  14. He says it goes back to 1995. Either he did it wrong or the sample should have been much bigger. You can't rely on this data to redefine anything.
  15. Yep I am one lol (if I'm not mistaken). He wasn't very interested though Offering other teams' players opens the door to so many possibilities.
  16. Let's not forget Angel Hernandez.
  17. It seems like the video assistant will be in the clubhouse. At least that's what the press release said. You make a good point... I'm sure some team will train the assistant on pitch tipping and have him call the dugout when he has something. That doesn't seem like it'd be against the rules though.
  18. Well, you can never be 100% of anything. I'm 98.2% sure he wouldn't have accepted 1/9 and 96.7% sure he would have accepted his QO. His agent said as much.
  19. JFaS' initial Fangraphs comment is now at -127 lol. I don't think I've ever seen a comment obtain such a poor rating.
  20. 13 years, $403M.
  21. Just read the comment section of Dave Cameron's new article: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-absurd-price-that-clayton-kershaw-is-actually-worth/#comment-4318315 People are piling on JFaS for no reason lol.
  22. He is, because of this comment from BIP: "I agree, I would only downvote a post because of its attitude or due to a flagrant disregard of all reason and facts. I don’t think the OP was particularly well thought out, but it wasn’t an insult or a joke." JFaS was caught slacking! Didn't think about his original comment enough. Clearly he must study this situation more and write his own post to come up with the truth.
  23. A sample of said comments directed as JFaS: "Does trolling the internet make you feel like you have friends? Or is it solely for the attention? The dynamic has always confused me. Obvious troll is obvious with the Steamer comment." "You forgot to mention Bruce Chen as well" "What dispensary do you use? I’m jealous." "HAHAHAHAHA" Number of rebuttal comments posted: 0. We're supposed to believe JFaS is wrong because... because. And because Dave Cameron also said so (and also provided no evidence).
  24. 2011 Phillies. Or 2002 D-Backs if I could... that 1-2 punch would be so much fun to have.
