Congrats to Abomination and Ace for nailing Yoon - Orioles! I'm surprised more people didn't get it. Most of the "Hmm... which team usually signs Asian guys?" voters went with with the Mariners. But the Orioles are nearly as busy in that market.

I'm all for buying low on talented youngsters and adding a 'bench bat,' but Jesus Montero hasn't hit since 2010 (which is longer ago than you think -- three full seasons have passed) and really doesn't have a position. He can't catch.

I'm saying I'd agree more with Happ ~ Capuano in a performance vacuum than Capuano at 1/5 > Santana at 3/39, from a Jays perspective in which only one SP signing is possible.

I'll admit that the projection focus has gotten to be a bit much this offseason. We're at the point where opinions that don't line up with projections are deemed worthless and are mercilessly ridiculed. I don't think that's fair. Terminator's opinion that Happ ~ Capuano is valid and I'm closer to agreeing with it then Capuano > Santana (from an expected contract view).

It doesn't matter. Most of the players arrive early and a month and a half of organized workouts is long enough. Plus, the vast majority of teams are within four days of each other. There's really nothing here.

Yes, if you believe the "Alex is a genius for waiting out the market" narrative. In that case, Yoon to BAL, Arroyo to ARI and Maholm to LAD is a perfect sequence of events. There are still two (or three, with Burnett) marquee pitchers out there and now a very limited set of teams. On the other hand perhaps the Orioles was never in the running for one of the top three guys and AA isn't interested in one of those guys anyway. And this merely strengthens a division rival.

I believe MLB only decided to do this because 2K sports was discontinuing their baseball game. So that makes sense lol. They need a baseball title published for Xbox and PC and it just wasn't going to happen externally, so they're doing it themselves. Then hopefully it succeeds and EA notices that and re-boots MVP Baseball.

The only significant player loop not connected is Ervin Santana's. He's been traded a few times with many pieces involved but none have provided a link. It's only a matter of time until it links up though lol.
