  1. Hammel would have been nice, but at least he didn't go to an AL club. This reads a lot like their signing of Feldman last year.
  2. Virgo. I'd flip Grant Green for #86. He has some upside and plays a premium position.
  3. There's one pitching prospect from an AL team who has seven letters in his last name that I'm hoping to take with my second pick, at 93. Will probably draft two prospects and three relievers.
  4. Some guys in the 150-250 range too. I'm going to make a list of every unowned prospect in the pool.
  5. Just freaking sign him. Get him and Ubaldo or Ervin and that's a contender. It's not that hard AA.
  6. Yeah, I'm assuming the division swapping was a mistake... the rivalries that have developed so far are very entrenched and are worthy of preservation.
  7. This story has been broken a bunch of times. In September with the official final deal with the Argos (was explicitly said this was the last deal ever for the Argos and RC), yesterday at the State of the Franchise and a few times in between. The new detail seems to be that it's possible that the Argos find a new home much sooner due to MLSE's desire to expand BMO Field.
  8. Hater. One day you'll understand. Everyone will.
  9. YAHOO HAS OPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- I'm setting up MPL right now. It seems like not everything has been activated though; after renewing MPL I'm back at the 'get ready' page.
  10. Yep! I'm fired up. Should only be a couple more hours, they usually open at 6 pm or so.
  11. I wouldn't be averse to a 2-for-2 including Kinsler and Kipnis. Not sure what the other pieces would be though. Maybe a SP or OF upgrade in my favour.
  12. GET HIM. Whatever contract he signs will be a discount because it'll be short term. This would be so perfect.
  13. Orlando Arcia tore through the DSL in 2011... any thought on him Ang?
  14. Post the guys you can't keep here, maybe you'll get a bite.
  15. Yep. We need an official definition of "International Free Agent." I suggested "a professional player who was eligible to sign a Major League contract when he was an amateur."
  16. What I'd suggest is that players deemed eligible by MLB to sign Major League contracts are Waiver Draft eligible. That covers international guys who are over the designated age (I think it's 23). Other Cuban guys of interest are Raicel Iglesias, Erisbel Arruebarruena and Odrisamer Despaigne.
  17. Okay. It makes sense, thanks for clearing that up you guys. Is there a rule that specifies which international players can be taken, or is that decided on a per-player basis? I know Tanaka and Abreu have been deemed eligible, but I'm not sure on Alexander Guerrero, Suk-Min Yoon, Aledmys Diaz and others.
  18. You wouldn't be promoting them or adding them as a free agent though, you'd be drafting them. It's not really an MiLB roster management matter. "During the Rule 5 Draft, all remaining players in the Yahoo database will be available." That seems pretty clear.
  19. Thanks. I think any unowned prospect in the database can be taken in the waiver draft, it's different from MLB free agency. "During the Rule 5 Draft, all remaining players in the Yahoo database (with the exception of prospects already owned on MiLB rosters) will be available. The Rule 5 Draft typically consists of MLB international signings, MLB players cut from keeper rosters, and unowned prospects."
  20. I need a little clarification on the rules: A prospect who hasn't played in an MLB game but has been dropped from a DDL MLB roster is eligible to be drafted in the Rule 4 draft (both drafts, for that matter), correct? That's how the rules read but it's not explicitly stated. I'm starting my Rule 4 watchlist too and need to know if I should be including such prospects.
  21. I've just started my watch list, it contains a bunch of unowned prospects. I'm taking an upside guy at 13 and then relievers with the rest of my picks (which are all in the 90s).
  22. Who needs Lind? Trade him for Jameson Taillon (which I'm told is a trade the Pirates would do) and bring up the Kid! Brenden Kalfus will save the season! Us BK Whoppers can't wait.
  23. Sure, from an on-field perspective. But the Orioles have a big locational advantage. Burnett lives in Maryland (half-hour from Baltimore), and his wife is deathly afraid of flying. When he pitched for Toronto, the Blue Jays had to provide the Burnetts with a few round-trip limo rides a year to Maryland.
  24. The Orioles are a perfect match. Let's hope Pittsburgh has been saving some $$ for this potential opportunity. No.
