  1. Be interesting to see where Vlad is ranked next year, I'd guess around 85. I'd have to assume he will be in the top 100 easily. SRF Alford Urena Vlad is a pretty nice 1-4. Too bad SRF is hurt.
  2. Take your pick. I know they won't do it now so close to September, but it should have been done a couple weeks ago. Even 11 days left how many more games is he going to be a negative factor in games.
  3. In his last 130 plate appearances Smoak is hitting .153/.231 with 53 strike outs. In his last 53 plate appearances he is hitting .122/.189 with 25 strikeouts. That's almost a 50% strike out rate. Montero could hit .200 and it will be an upgrade. I'm not saying Montero is going to come here and tear it up, but at his worst he'll be an upgrade. And who knows, maybe he does tear it up here, he does still have potential, and he's on fire right now. Why not ride it while he's hot.
  4. On the bright side, it appears we more or less have good Liriano. Even if he's not amazing, it looks like he will fit in well next year. Estrada Happ Sanchez Stroman Liriano If Liriano can be atleast okay and Stroman can put it together, that's a filthy rotation.
  5. How the front office can a) give Smoak an extension and put him out there game after game while Montero sits in AAA, blows my f***ing mind.
  6. SRF is hurt. Knew something was up when he dind't pitch for 11 days, then got destroyed.
  7. Every new pitcher we get is Gibbons' new toy to play with and automatically gets top priority.
  8. No, he's stating that we wouldn't talk about him at all, which is just stupid. Obviously we talk about him more because he's Canadian, who wouldn't want a home grown 7 WAR Candian on their team out of the handful of Candians in the league. But Stoeten is making it sound like he's a mediocre player. When your arrogant head says "(hint: none)" when asking about how much we would talk about him, you're clearly an arrogant idiot. Guy is a fool, not sure why anyone follows or listens to anything he says.
  9. Not that I agree with it, but I think being first or second in home runs will give you more value than someone with similar numbers but half the home runs. What a f***ing idiot.
  10. Montero .432 in last ten games. No power though. I wouldn't mind giving him a chance over Smoak. Smoak in his last 47 games .159/.243 .624OPS. Time to move on.
  11. Lopes .478 in his last ten games. .593 in his last seven games. Alford .324 with three home runs. Vlad Jr .378 in last nine games and four home runs.
  12. Should have given him five years.
  13. EE walks and Bautista is our DH next year is my guess. I bet Jose still think he's worth $25M per.
  14. This should honestly be the last straw for him. If he bombs, he should be done.
  15. Lopes hitting .478 in last ten games. 27 doubles in 327 ABs, not bad.
  16. Holy s***, I thought he did retire. I thought it was the whole point of this thing. Guess I should have actually read it.
  17. Depends where you're typing this from!
  18. Lopes playing some good ball. Hitting .400 in his last ten.
  19. Forum cred +5
  20. That's why I think he'll win, as long as he doesn't bomb. Finish around 21-23wins and say 5 losses. Hard not to give it to him, especially with everyone else so similar. Or as someone mentioned, Britton wouldn't surprise me either since there's quite a few SP having good seasons, but no one really standing out from the rest.
  21. Shouldn't, but if he keeps doing what he's doing, he'll probably win it. In the last couple months he's probably been the best pitcher in baseball. In his last seven starts he's given up six earned runs.
  22. Eckersley 1990 is pretty comparable, if not better. He only walked four the whole season. 0.61ERA. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1003660&position=P
  23. I think if Happ goes like 22-5 he'll probably get it, assuming ERA is still down. I find it pretty crazy we have three SP in the top five and we aren't ten games in first place.
