Lorenzen was a dumpster dive acquisition.   He is what we thought he would be. :(

So was Taillon but he got hurt so quick we didn't get to see him really suck

It's only the 4th.  Plenty of time to get back in it provided the Jays can hold them at 4 runs.

The Bieber injury was a bridge too far.

It was the straw that broke us. We just ran out of enough quality pitching.

We're trying to steal too many innings with guys that aren't very good and shouldn't be pitching in the spots they are pitching.

Pitching is what has kept us in it despite all that.  Its the joke of a offense thats been consistently screwing this team over.  We're all nitpicking decisions because our guys simply cant score enough runs.

The question must be asked: Why is a team with a top tier payroll acquiring throwaway arms?  Injuries are not enough of an excuse.  It is poor roster preplanning; have to have plan b, c, d.....

I'll actually cut Atkins some slack for this

He loaded  up with more starting pitchers than people actually thought we needed to begin the season

Once the injuries started hitting so hard there were only so many options available to pick up really

If anything the lack of SP options in the minors might be the problem I suppose

The whole "sustainable winning" BS we've heard from Shatkins was a massive failure.  The farm system has been a joke and this team has tried to buy their way out of every problem because of it.

You know I dont mind that the Jays spend money.  Glad we are not Tampa. But why is Michael Lorenzen pitching for the reigning American League Champions?

The sad thing is they aren’t even expecting 5 innings out of him, he’s a bulk guy during bullpen games. So 2-3 innings. If Chad Dallas is healthy then there’s absolutely zero excuse not to go that route instead of using Lorenzen. I don’t get it.
