glory Old-Timey Member Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago If the Jays sweep this series then they'd be 3 back of Boston for the WC. Do they still sell in that scenario? I would think common sense would still prevail (this team isn't good) but the GB column would make the optics of selling harder to justify (and this org cares way too much about optics).
SeranthonySantander Verified Member Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago This is a good opportunity to show the red socks some of our players who they might want. Maybe Vlad. Maybe Cease. Give em 100m and they take both players we don’t get anything back

Probably not tbh I wonder if there is a middle road.... sell and buy...

That's what I expect in that the team will sell short term assets and buy longer term assets to help in future seasons. If they move out Gausman and Bieber I could also see some stopgap rotation assets required for the remainder of the season.

It would entail someone taking on a Vlad contract too and eating a lot of money like I said. Rogers wouldn’t do it though I think we are stuck with him for 14 years unless he does a wander Franco and gets caught with a gun or something, maybe his contract is voided.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Trade for guys with control who could help a bit this season, but also next season as well. Carmen Mlodzinski is rotting away in the Pirates bullpen. I'm sure the Jays could acquire him and move him into the rotation. Braxton Garrett has been rotting away in AAA. Would slot nicely in the Jays rotation somewhere. Marlins could definitely use a Gausman or Bieber for their rotation. Tigers likely open to trading some pieces - maybe Parker Meadows or Kerry Carpenter. Rotation: Cease Yesavage Garrett Mlodzinski Miles Not bad and that's a solid middle road IMO. Still could get hot in August and get back into the Postseason picture. If not, you have some controllable arms for next season and with some upside. max silver 1
